I plan on driving into Canada later this summer. I also plan on bringing some cigars with me.

I can't imagine I will have an issue bringing them into Canada, but maybe I will, I was mainly wondering if I would have issues bringing my cigars back into the U.S..

I also plan on getting some Cuban cigars in Canada, but I plan on smoking those before I return.

Will U.S. Customs be familiar enough with my legally purchased cigars to know enough that I'm not trying to smuggle illegal cigars into the country?

This is probably a moot question anyway, seeing how I will be amazed if my trip isn't cancelled.

What makes you think it's legal to bring cigars into Canada without paying duty on them. At any rate, you have been around here almost a year and you expect to get a correct answer - WTF is wrong with you ? I'll let the experts advise you (hoping you know enough to have and bring a passport).

You're allowed 100 cigars for personal use. Anything beyond that jas to be taxed.

Also, Canada is overpriced for cigars. Better to buy from Europe.

Smoke a few before you buy more. I've purchased more duds from reputable shops in the center of Toronto than anything quality. Never an issue bringing them home.

The Canadian border is still closed for anything non essential.

I can give you a copy of my Walmart credentials stating that your an essential worker. It's and official photocopy of a e-mail memo with Walmart letterhead and everything. All you have to do if you are stopped and questioned, is to show the letter and your name tag and/or Walmart vest (I have a few spares).
