May 4, I won an auction for a box of cigars. Realizing that the card which I had on file, was with an account I had closed, I went to "My Account" to update to the proper card. It took all of the information, but would not allow me to change my "Name as it appears on my card". The old card had my middle initial, new card had my full middle name. I tried everything to correct this, but it did not take. The following Monday, I checked my online banking, and it showed a pre-authorization for the correct amount. It all looked good. A week later, I got an email saying that there was a problem with my card, and that I chould call. Several lengthy calls over a period of 2 days, later, after a 2-hour hold, I got through. We got the situation resolved, and the purchase was showing as paid. The very next day, I got a confirmation number and tracking number, for my order. That was now the 13th of May. Since then, I have checked tracking every day, and all I get is that the "Pre-shipment information" has been created. It has now been 12 days, and nothing. I've called, and emailed, MANY, MANY times. No answer, nor replies. It is now May 25, and through no fault of my own, my cigars are in limbo.
CigarBid has lost my business, and lost it for good. They have left me no option but to call my bank, tomorrow, and dispute the charge as a fraudulent transaction, since it is fraud to sell something, collect the money, then not ship it. I will also contact the Postmatser, and file a mail fraud claim.
This is a piss-poor way of doing business, and I will make certain that I warn as many people as possible, about CigarBid's fraudulent way of doing "business".

There's a lot going on right now so I'd cut them a little slack Nancy

I have stuff out 10 days from Amazon..........and they ship to me from Dallas,180 miles away

I have zero slack left to give. I'm going to completely run out of cigars, tonight or tomorrow. I have 2 left in the humidor. A month is plenty of time to get their stuff together, without some kind of explanation. I might have been willing to cut then slack, if they'd answer their phones or email. This is unacceptable.
I can call other Cigar retailers, RIGHT NOW, mid-day on a holiday, and get a response. I could place an order from Holt's, Serious, Famous, or most any other retailer, and have my shipment, even with Covid-19, and have my shipment here in 10-12 days, MAXIMUM.
Completely unacceptable.

Take your biz elsewhere, you certainly have a legit complaint.
Things is, you coming in here to whine about it?
We give zero slack, just like you.

Most of us have more than a “one month” supply of cigars on hand. Not that we’re rich or anything, but if you’re a regular cigar smoker, it generally makes sense to have at least SOME extra on hand, in case your regular shipment gets delayed, lost or stolen.

First off, "Judge not, lest he be judged". I typically DO keep more than a 3 month supply on hand, but, have had a bit of a rough patch, recently, what with not working and all.
Secondly, I didn't come here to "whine" as you say. I came here to be as public as possible, to let others know what the **** they're getting into, buying from this retailer.
If I went to a car repair place, and got **** service, would it be whining, if I tried to warn other potential customers of their shoddy business practices? No. It would be considered a community service. Chances are, 90% of their customers are happy, because they haven't gotten screwed. But the 10% who DO get screwed, certainly want it known that the potential is there, to be screwed. This is unacceptable in ANY business.
I've managed businesses. Mistakes happen. When they do, you own up to the mistake, make it right, and grease the palm of the person who got hosed. I'm not asking to have my palm greased. I just wanted some damned CUSTOMER SERVICE. I just wanted them to make some effort to correct their mistake. Their lack of regard for desire to correct the mistake, speaks volumes about their **** business practices. Potential customers need to know this, so that they can make an informed decision if they want to continue in transaction with CigarBid. My friend Jason, is a regular of theirs. In his opinion, **** service is the price of cheap cigars. In my opinion, the price of the cigars is immaterial
In March, I ordered 25 cigars from Jorge Nicholls at JNVCigars.com. He messed up, and simply forgot to ship. When I asked, he corrected the problem, IMMEDIATELY. Even sent me a few things to help "grease my palm". I passed those things on to friends, because I wasn't looking for that. I just wanted my cigars.
They have my money. Are you saying that I don't have the right to complain that I was defrauded?
If so, let me sell you a bridge.....

I had a similar event recently.

I had lost my debit card and deactivated it, then 2 weeks later I bid (and didn’t lose) a box of cigars. Realizing BEFORE it was processed (as that’s MY FAULT NOT CBID’s) I called the next morning. I was on hold for less than 10 seconds (they have caller ID) and Shana got it straightened out right away. We whispered sweet nothings in each other’s ears and she also mentioned how Victor just pretends to be a nice guy but she really adores me.

My box arrived the next day with a sweet note inside with a lipstick kiss that said “thanks for not being an angry **** like some people”

Don’t know what your problem was.....

Which was close to what I'd done. Only I caught it BEFORE I ever bid. I went to change the info, and it allowed my to change EVERYTHING, except the "Name as it appears on Card". It would not allow me to change it to what actually appears on my card. When the pre-auth happened, I thought it was good, until I got an email, 9-10 days later, saying there was a problem. I called several times, finally getting through after a 2 hour hold (I was driving a couple of hundred miles, and had nothing better to do, anyway). They got it straight, as soon a second I told them. Info is now accurate in their system. Still, they assigned a tracking number, late that night (just after midnight). That was 1:15am on May 13. Tracking shows only "Pre-Shipment info". Nothing has been physically shipped, and tomorrow will complete 2 weeks.
I get that they're busy. But, they can't answer an email, inquiring? The Postal Service has not suspended service, for the past 2 weeks. No Postal carrier has picked up anything? No Postal truck has visited? Something is wrong, and they should at least offer up an excuse. Barring none, and hearing similar stories on Social Media, about them, OVER TIME-not just during Covid 19, I can only presume that they have no intent to ship.
Like I said, tomorrow, after the bank opens from the holiday, I'll dispute it as fraudulent, then report it to the postal inspector as Postal Fraud.
Screw them. I'm not a sycophant so loyal to their low prices, that I'm willing to sell my soul, like a Torry in the Revolution.
