So, last time I was in my local, I picked up some BOTL release that I saw on the shelf. Didn't know much about them or research or any thing. Overall, I have enjoyed the profile. But today, I've had to relight about 6 times since I hit the half way point of the cigar. Anyone else have experience with these? I was too lazy to search the board so sorry if these have been previously discussed.

I’ve only smoked one (CG) but that was back in January so don’t quite remember if I had to do multiple re-lights. Got a couple more so will try another this weekend and see if I experience the same issues.

Have smoked 5, corona gorda size, from a box I bought 08/2019 with no issues. They are rolled tight and have a firm draw but I haven't encountered problems with relights...hope your next one burns better.

Thanks for the quick feedback. Maybe it was just that one. Was just curious on others experience with these.

The OR was really good and got hard to find quick.

This second release I’ve found to be economical from a DE standpoint and pretty good (not great). I’ve bought singles more than once from my local if that’s worth any indication, and I’ve never had to relight one (maybe burn correction). I like them better than UC and not as over priced as Ligas.

My table top torch. I don't normally have problems with relights unless I'm multi tasking. Especially with premium cigars. Was a little surprised with it since I've always had pretty good luck with Drew Estates in the past(though admittedly I haven't forked out Liga money in a bit). It may have just been that one. I'll give em another chance if I find more.

Smoked the BOTL 2019 CG that I got from Marcus and it burned fine. No draw, construction or output issues. I was watching old episodes of “Counting Cars” so because of my lack of attention, there were a couple of times when it was close to needing a re-light but I managed to coax it back to life. FWIW, it was stored at 65% RH for about 7 months so that mighta made a difference.

I’ve been nibbling on a box of lanceros for the past year and have had the opposite problem. Mine r pretty loosely rolled so can get quite spongy while smoking. I’m in Brazil where the humidity has been very high so find relighting a very common situation here esp when outdoors. depending on ur conditions u might try dry boxing or humidifying them accordingly overnight before smoking as that can really help. Unfortunately there isn’t alot u can do if the humidity where u r smoking is especially high or low even if u prep them in advance so adjusting ur puff rate or smoking with AC on high could help. Let us know what u try. Happy herfing!

For low humidity, yes there is. Hold the uncut cigar upright under slow-running tap water, turn it around (keeping it vertical!) so all sides of, and locations on, the wrapper get wet, then roll the cigar on a dry towel to absorb the excess. Cut, light, smoke. Helps tremendously in dry-air environments.

Also often improves the cigar in other environments too! Try it.
