Recently had a Gran Cru No. 2 by Davidoff and loved it. But I don't love the price.
Has anyone found anything that is similar at a cheaper price?

I stay away from Davidoff/Ashton for that precise reason... good cigars, just not good enough to justify what you have to spend on them...

Pricing on a lot of cigar lines has gone through the roof the last few years. Kooban Cohibas are a prime example.

I've never heard anyone say it was a poor man's game to burn the ones we love though. So I guess we pony up or shut up.









OP, sorry no help on a sub for the Gran 2. I prefer the Millennium line, but haven't bought any for years. Good luck!

Ive got a gran cru chillin in humi I need to smoke. There is a creaminess that some Davidoff's have that I haven't found elsewhere. But that doesn't justify the price imo.

I did buy one other cigar at the Davidoff bar....a Winston Churchill Toro. Should have bought the Davidoff "Las Vegas" labeled cigar just as a souvenir for myself. Oh well, maybe next time.

The only reason I bought them at the Davidoff bar was because the other cigar shops I went to didn't carry Davidoff.

try the Sobremesa Brulee...they are very similar, using Ecuador Connecticut wrapper leaf (but different binder and fillers)...and although pricey, they run about 30% less than the Davidoff Gran Cru

I liked them both, but if I'm gonna get more, I'll go with the Sobremesa Brulee

I'm going to get killed for this, but quite some time ago I had a few of those cheap 3x3's by Davidoffs that where surprisingly good and flavorful. Haven't had any since (so no idea if those were an anomaly and they're normally wretched), but might be worth a flyer,. Every once in a while you find a cheapey that just works, could be it.

I consider the Ashton VSG a much better cigar and by the box a much better price point.I treat myself to a couple boxes a year when one of my online competitors throws on the across the board 15-20% discount.Usually I can get a box of the illusion/CG/robusto's shipping included for around 8-9$ a stick...........you ain't gonna find that in no SHPO.I've never found a Davidoff stick that really wow 'd me so I'm not sure if discounts apply to them or not but if you enjoy them that much it's worth a look.

Received some Zino Platinum Scepter from an auction.
I've only tried one but it came pretty close to the Gran Cru. Not as much creamy but pretty smooth. Have more on order.

I also have a box of Sobremesa Brulee on order
