The tenskie place has boxes of the Espana corona for a great price. I'd loved these when the first released, so I went ahead and picked up a couple boxes, but then was just wondering if anyone had sampled recent examples and had any comments on whether they were still as good as when originally released.

Love the originals also. I haven’t had one in years though.

These must be a re-release or somebody found a bunch of originals. I looked for more of the originals a long time ago and came up empty.

For $55 a box, figured I'd give them a whirl.

I saw some sales or specials for the Quesada brand on one of the CI sites as well. I think this indicates the release of a fresh run and not the old crop.

That's a good cigar I've forgotten about. Might have one or two buried somewhere.

eta: can someone PM me what the tenskie place is? I've figured out a lot of the other code names but this one eludes me.

Wow, I remember buying the OG ones at B&M prices and thinking they were a great for the price. How is the Robusto size?

Can't say anything about the other vitolas, but the coronas were phenomenal, so hoping this batch is similar. Coronas are still available from what I see.

I believe you are right, box looks to have an 08-2020 code on it that I just got. Hoping to give them a try this weekend.

Same code on mine. Nicely packaged with a boveda in each box. Snagged one to try this weekend, looks good, but not like I have an original sitting here to compare with.

Just about finished one pretty much rott. Very dry smoke in the 1st third and tasted green to me. Reminded me a lot of a Blue Graycliff I had when I first got into cigars, not sure if that is good or bad honestly but I don't gravitate towards that type of cigar. The final third was a lot better but couldn't put my finger on anything outside of a leathery like note. I'll try again at a later date and see what happens.

Received yesterday and smoked ROTT this morning. These do not have the second Espana band of the originals from 2011 release. Those were originally made only for the Spanish market but due to demand some got diverted into the US in limited amounts. I'm not sure if this is the same Ecuadorian Arapirca wrapper but they look similar to me.

I also got that dry up front note and the head started to unravel slightly on this one after a few puffs. The first thing I noticed was a slight bitter note of what I think of as lemon peel that I remember really liking on the O R. After about 1" in it seemed to meld into cocoa/cedar and slight spice notes.

IIRC, the O R improved a whole bunch with age and I'm hoping these do the same.

Had one Hnixon-style last night. Odd opening, with some weird flavors, but the last third felt to me to taste alot like I recall the OR to be. To be honest, just going off this singular example, I'd say these may still be a bit sick, and need some downtime.
