There needs to be a sales force to sell a political theory? Is that something like Army Recruiters?:-k God forbid.
I've seen people talk about how they were Marxists, Conservatives, or Neocons, and ultimately came to be libertarians, but no one ever said a salesman convinced them to change, they were exposed to new ideas for sure that challenged them, but their change came about by their own free will.
Were proles recruited to the different stripes of progressivism? Did the recruiters brainwash them and promise them a free pony if they joined? I never came from that camp, I never found any interest in it, actually repulsed by it as an aberration in American history that would come to no good, so it always baffled me as to what was attractive about it.
