I figured I’d start a new thread for this. I just got this today. I’m sure most of you guys already have humidors at this point but I know how collections can grow. I decided on this vs a larger wine cooler due to space and obviously this will help control buying cigars once my cooler is full to preferred capacity

Sunoverbeach touched on this topic for me in another thread but I’m curious how some of you guys would approach humidification.

I did use the search function. That led me to buying hx 10 humidor beads. I have plenty of 69 boveda and also 69 percent integra 67 gram which I was using before I knew what boveda was.

Dimensions as I measured them. 12.5 inches deep 11 inches wide 21 inches tall. All internal measurements

In my mind I thought this thing would be just a tad larger but also it’s a bit deeper than I originally planned. I like the look and size of it.

I’m curious how anyone who is willing to reply would set this thing up.

Sunover added he was happier with 65 boveda. I’m still new enough that I don’t know exactly where I want them.

Even temperature settings will be appreciated. I’m using a 74 quart iris locking Tupperware at the moment. I’m still going to use it but I think I need to move a few out as it’s so cluttered that it’s hard to find what I want.

Well the original 74 quart tub was my cutoff. Then the nicer looking audew came which already isn’t going to hold what I have. So now it’s acceptable to fill both. I do intend to age 3 boxes. The rest are just for whenever. But yes I found this site and placed a small order. Then a large order after things went smooth. Haven’t tried half of what I have. Then if I find a new favorite. I’d assume I’d then need a box of them ....

I keep most of my cigars in a cooler and glass jars, they are air tight so I don't have to worry about losing humidity. My humidor depends too much on the weather. I live in mich so it's low humidity in the winter and high in the summer which effects my humidor quite a bit. This time of year, it's 72% boveda packs and in the summer, when I have to store my cigars in the basement where it's cooler, I use 69% and thinking of dropping to 65%. With a wood humidor, it all depends on your ambient temps and humidity. For the most part, I like my cigars between 65% and below 70%.
I'm thinking of retiring my wood humidor all together, too much maintenance.

I’m about done with wooden humidors myself. I use the better one I have to keep my smokes ready to go. I think a smaller Tupperware may replace it completely. They just wick too much moisture out. I started with 69 percent because I assumed that was what I liked. I have found a few cigars that smoked a touch wet. So I may also creep down to 65. I keep my desktop lower so it seems I subconsciously like them on the drier side of 69. I do check my desktop daily.

My suggestion is to pick one of the coolers for aging and one for actively smoking. (Especially if you are aging singles.). For my beads (except for a couple that came in their own sack), I have them tied off in little pantyhose things. Easiest way is to go to a shoe store and grab a few of their “try on” sock things. I then spread the
Title balls of beads out in the cooler. It worked great in a 64qt cooler and now works well in my wineador and humidors.

I have the NewAir CC-100H which seems almost identical to yours but maybe a little smaller. After I seasoned mine I had to put 72% bovedas to keep the humidity 67-68%. Mine also will dry out bovedas a lot quicker vs my tupperdor's. Check my post here about tupperdor's and emergency storage:

Thanks Clint. Currently I’m using the 74 quart iris. Same as the ziplock as you mentioned I. Your earlier post. I’ve got it crammed with 69 boveda working perfectly. I am likely overthinking. I wanted a newaire myself but simply couldn’t find one. I’ve read that some of these need the drain hole plugged. It may be worth looking at. I feel like it should hold up as good as a cooler. I’ve not yet stocked my audew so I really can’t say how well it will hold moisture. It does look promising so far

try finding wire mesh baskets that fit into your shelves, that are just about the width and depth of the interior dimensions of the humidor and a little shorter than the opening...it'll make finding stuff so much easier...like pulling out a tray or drawer...65% heartfelt beads in my Montague and tupperdors...

when I bought the Montague, I swore that would be all the storage I needed...hahaha

got four wire mesh trays for two shelves of the Montague...two per shelf, side, by side....and one bigger wire mesh basket for the larger bottom space, for boxes...it is 23" deep, so the trays make finding stuff in the back sooooo much easier

mesh will allow better air circulation for your singles...

But you have to promise not to tell...

Just a little update. So I took 6 robusta boxes and drilled 1/2 holes throughout the bottom instead of the wire racks. I figure it’s gonna work similar to the same concept. They fit the shelves pretty well Near perfect honestly. I had them laying around so I improvised
I added one hx 10 humidifier in the bottom center. After things stabilized a bit I was a touch too moist at 72 percent. At the bottom. I then added a small mini fridge fan that gently blows air, it runs on two d batteries. If anyone wants to know the name I’ll check it out.

I added multiple cigars. No idea how many but filled top tray and added two boxes of robustos
Then two boxes with the holes in the bottom loosely filled with some five packs

After that stabilized I was looking pretty good. 65 at the top 72 down low for now.

I added a boveda 320 69 percent directly to the top of the top tray. Will check things again tomorrow.

All grammatical issues are due to makers mark. Figured I’d update for anyone else to tell me how they would adjust or if this helps anyone that will be dope

Damn that sounds like a lot of work, I just keep my cigars in a wal-mart bag under my kitchen sink.

@king if you have the space the 300 count goes on sale very frequently on the audew website. They were so close in price I’d probably recommend the larger one. Way cheaper than Amazon.
@plowboy. They took my bags away over here in Delaware. That’s why I had to get a cooler. Paper bags now
