Never traveled on a plane, but the wife and I are planning a trip to Hawaii in Feb 2022. We'll be there for a couple weeks and while I'm sure that I'll visit a so or 2 while I'm there, I want to plan on taking a decent amount of cigars with me. Probably around 10-20. What's the best way to do this? Assuming just a travel humi on a carry-on, but any restrictions I need to aware of?

Carry on, no restrictions, I would print out the TSA’s own rules on cutters and put it in the case and still take a cheap cutter.

torches might pass, pitchforks are a no-go.

No restrictions on smokes flying. Smoking in Hawaii can be difficult in a lot of places.

Torches definitely restricted though I got a couple through in checked luggage. Cutters not an issue in checked. I don't know about TSA rules for carry-on

Haven't had an issue with bics in carry-on even when searched and lighter found by agent

If you’re bringing that many cigars, a smaller, rectangular Tupperware container with a humipak will do the job. Easy to throw into your carry-on. Depending on how much space is left, I usually use some bubble wrap to keep the cigars from moving around.

Cutters and long matches always go into the checked-in luggage. I’ve never taken a lighter on a trip, will pick up a cheapie after getting in...or just use the matches. Stinger / David always has a lighter when we herf so check with him on how he does it.

Like SOB / Dan said, cigar smoking is limited / restricted so read up on the City ordinances as well as hotel / property policies.

Depending on where you're staying, The Row Bar is a possible site. Obviously things might be different in a year from now but it does allow for cigar smoking.

Good to know! We're still in the initial planning stages now, should be meeting up with a local travel agent in the next couple weeks, from there we'll have a better idea of everything

I just got home.....carry on for cigars is fine.

Just loaded up my travel humidor with 3 cigars and a bic. Might smoke one while we're down there. Never had an issue, but I dont fly often.

Seems to depend on the TSA guys involved. I have taken many cheap bics in my checked bags without incident but it's a big no no in carry on. I was given a new lighter at an event and since it was still in it's box packaging that had never been opened I through it in my carry on. Set off alarms all over the terminal and musta had five TSA agents asking me questions, pulled out of line and searched.

Just the wimmins. For some reason they thought that big bulge in my pants needed to be examined closely.
