A caravan of thousands of migrants clashed on Sunday with Guatemalan authorities while continuing to trek toward the U.S. border, according to reports.

Security forces used sticks to beat back the caravan of migrants, which set out from Honduras ahead of President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration.

Estimates range from 6,000 to 8,000 migrants who have entered Guatemala over the weekend. In contrast, only around 3,000 Guatemalan officers mustered to hold up the caravan in the Sunday morning clash, according to Reuters.

Several people were injured as the caravan attempted to push through the human barricade of security forces. Authorities also deployed tear gas in an attempt to drive back the train of people.

Some retreated, going so far as to flee to the nearby mountains, the BBC reported.

"Guatemala's message is loud and clear: These types of illegal mass movements will not be accepted, that's why we are working together with the neighboring nations to address this as a regional issue," the Guatemalan president’s office said of the crisis.

Many believe that the group has been spurred on by Biden’s rhetoric, by which he has promised to end President Donald Trump’s more strict immigration policies.

Yeah, that speech he gave in Honduras crazy dangerous. I mean him saying let's march to the U. S. border was outrageous. Don't worry, KKK, White Supremacists, and White Nationalists will save the day. Though I am good with those that can provide a needed skill set being given a path to citizenship. I expect those people have passports would follow proper channels and fly in.

I doubt it. I can bring those in on H1 visas and I’ll have a driver pick them up at the airport. No walking needed.

H1 visas are modern day indentured servitude although the average salary is $98K! Since US universities keep pumping out MBAs instead of STEM degrees we keep importing them from China and India and let the US MBAs work at Starbucks.

I am completely shocked any conservatives or friends of mine with the right would minimize an attack from within on the capital and appear to support it directly or through misdirection. Tells me they were never true.

They look stupid now but much like birtherism will never own up to the stupidity. They will ignore and move to their next outrage.

What did my right leaning friends become such integrity lacking pansies?
