"Ideological people, whatever their flaws, hold political actors and government bodies to account. Partisans change positions readily and shamelessly, depending on anything from who is living in the White House, to the vagaries of party leaders, to what is perceived as popular at the moment."

"The study found that nonpartisans’ brains are different from those of their brainwashed brethren, particularly in “regions that are typically involved in social cognition.”

BeeHive, only cuz it was your link do I promise to finish reading it tomorrow...
but after several (Trump presidency) years listening to false conservatives label so much from so many legit sources as "junk science", I gotta tell you that the first thousand words did not feel like this was much more than a puff piece of personal (the author's) research set out to prove a belief rather than impartial observation leading to a conclusion or theory....

Most of you guys listen to Fauci , so I know you don't have any standards. :)

Idk I found it to be an interesting article, with links as citation...

But by all means, partisan it up, makes for good reading on the forums.

well, it did start out as interesting or I wouldn't have responded at all...
I just can't shake the feeling that I had a premonition as to how it ends...feeling like it's what almost everybody used to call real junk science.

and for your edification, I have standards AND brackets.

I thought the partisans were the good guys in WWII. I haven't even started my brackets, Frank. Who do you have winning the dance ?

It's been shown over and over again with empirical evidence that partisan people often think and act irrationally when it comes to politics. They think in a more kneejerk fashion at an emotional level and feel most comfortable in a tribe where they may feel more accepted by others.
They may even think their views are based on an ideology supported by economic and historical truths when in fact it is all a delusion based on repeated lies. Brainwashing if you prefer to call it that.

For instance...

How else can you explain a Democrat that believes socialistic policies forced upon the masses will somehow work for the best interests of all if only the right people are in charge and enough money is expropriated and thrown at a problem?

How can you explain a stalwart Republican that believes his/her party is the party of small government and fiscal responsibility?

That's a very partisan thing to say.

Now that you, RayRay and many many others that hijacked the L party... (not sure if that's what it should be called now that I look at it... but it blew up and is full of trump supporters now, so I feel it appropriate)... I don't think you can pull the partisan card anymore... there's too many of you now.

Do you even hear yourselves???

You just parrot what that guy tells you to think, where he heard it from the most twisted of your ranks...

You don't see you're just trapped in some giant circular, logical mess?

Let me explain what happened to you... all you mother f*ckers...

The stupidest (yes stupidest) conspiracy theorists in your ranks start spreading sh*t... trump's team tells him what his base is saying, he goes out and spouts the stupid sh*t his team told him would drive you nuts... you guys fall for it.

Rinse and repeat.

No, you cannot claim the partisan card... ever again. You're a part of the L party now, it's its uuuuuge.

For the record... I thought it was a good party before trump wiped his taint on it.

Edit:

Get rid of the sheep that don't even know what the tenants of your party mean, it will be credible again.

And for #8

I should've said Fauci is a doctor, not a politician.

The article is about partisan politics. I said that jokingly, bc Frank was questioning the science in the article.

"hijacked the L party"?
"trapped in some giant circular, logical mess"?

I don't have any idea WTF all that nondescript disconnected gobbledygook you wrote means.

"For the record... I thought it was a good party before trump wiped his taint on it."

So you really thought the Republican Party was just dandy before Trump? Like GWB and the neocons? John McCain, Mitt Romney? OH GOD!

tbh, I really don't know much about Fauci. What I've heard from someone who's actually had interactions with the man says he's an intelligent hard working man despite the bullet point of blame that a certain someone turned him in to. I imagine that's true for most people in the country... most people don't really know much about him, he's generally not a dude you would normally be brining the attention to at the overblown level that he has been. Everyone certainly seems to have an opinion on him though... me, not so much. I don't really know much about him. I'll trust the subject matter experts on this one.

Seriously, if nobody made a big deal out of it, would wearing a mask to the store really be a thing?

Would anyone really be questioning this guys credibility if trump didn't blast the bullhorn for his base's conspiracy theories?

Just another mountain formed out of a mole hill.

If someone had interactions with the man and said that about him, they were probably another tax parasite..
IIf Fauci was an intelligent hard working man he would have been doctorin instead of bureaucratin all these years.
Of course a gubment job is where you don't pay a price if you're dead wrong and probably get a raise.
