In all seriousness Jimmy, after you enter your bid, make sure you click outside the bid-entry box before you scroll up or down on the page using a scroll wheel. If I click in a bid box and scroll up, the bid goes up, scroll down, the bid goes down. For this to happen, the pointer has to still be over the bid box.
If you don't notice this and just click "place bid" it may not be the number you originally entered.
Having said that, paying over retail is a status symbol around here. You will be "bidder of the month" and get lot's of "likes"....
