I was out for my daily walk early this morning and found a wallet laying in the road. Scattered around were a few credit cards and some business cards so I gathered all of them that I could find assuming someone either left it on the roof of their car or it was stolen and the thief took any cash and threw it out the window.

I brought it home intending to try to contact the owner and return it. It appears to belong to a hispanic dude since that was on the driver's license and two of the credit cards but there were also about 5-6 other Visa and Mastercharge cards all with different names.

What to do?

Call the guy and give it back. (don't have his number without looking up records)
Ring up as much cigar purchases as the cards will allow.
Call the police and let them sort it out.

During a long bike ride I found a wallet. I hoped it was going to be filled with hundreds covered in white dust, but it belonged to a older guy living in a modest house near where we found it. They were very thankful to get it back.

Yea, that happened to me years ago. They took my Visa and left a couple of $20s in the wallet. I didn't know my card was missing until my bank phoned to say I had about $1500 worth of charges in the last few hours.

Lost my wallet once while in high school. Was completing my door-to-door paper route during the dead of winter when I realized it was missing. I went crazy looking everywhere possible for days. The next Spring, some young kid called me the next Spring to tell me he had found my lost wallet. I hung up on him the first time because I couldn't understand his garbled speech. So, the kid's father called me back and told me what his son has found. There was $64. I tried to give the kid $20, but his father wouldn't allow him to accept it. Haven't lost my wallet since. Hope I never do again!

This low life prick is a pro...these low life's charge one of two bills on each card per month as to not throw up big flags...
One tank of gas, one grocery bill, one trip for liqour...
These are always in the same exact town as the "mark" they stole the card from...they never check their bills againST the recieptx and never report the stolen card...hence these scum ball SUCKING R.E.M.O.R.A. LIVING OFF "sharks" bodies and income from real wage earners are slime....

If you are asking about my card being stolen the cops took a report and never heard from them again. My bank (Wells Fargo) comped the charges and issued a new card immediately. No questions.

Yesterday a cop came out and picked up the wallet. Looked through it and said they would be running each card through their system to trace purchases. Not too smart of the guy to have them in the same place as his drivers license.

Identity thieves are SMART , SNEAKY AND THEY ARE DUMB TO A FAULT...THEY NEVER HIDE STUFF because they know if they get caught that kits a "slap on the wrist" sentence...
Probation and community service for $10k-$100k...
Maybe 1 year on $100k - $1 million...
Then 1.5 years on $1million +++ if they are a RING LEADER with "priors"...its a non violent crime...
