Honestly I was not meaning as a coach. I was meaning as an announcer.

Often imitated, never duplicated.

You always knew it was gonna be a good / key game when Madden and Pat Summerall were the announcing team.

Madden compiled a .759 winning percentage in Oakland, the highest percentage in league history among coaches that have won 100 games

Who would you rather hang out with?

No doubt John Madden... loved his football game on PS when I was younger. Spent many hours playing it and drinking beer with the fellas. Loved listening to him and Summerall.

However, BB has NINE Superbowl rings. 7 as a HC with the Pats and 2 more as DC with the Giants. Madden was great, as a coach, businessman, announcer, etc... but IMO GOAT is determined by championships.

Many would say Parcells was the better coach in NY, but he won exactly no rings without Belichik. BB won 7 without Parcells.

Madden wasn’t a cheater.

How many you think Jimmy would have gotten if not for Jerry’s ego?

1 more for sure. Switzer won with Jimmie's team. Maybe 2. Damn sure not 5.

Loved watching games that Madden and Sumerall called. I’ll never forget the turkey that had 6 or 8 drumsticks, or the turduken. Madden would ramble on an on. When he would finish Pat would sum up everything he said in like 3 words. But, sometimes I wanted to reach into the screen and take that damn clicker away from him.
