Needed to add another one to the worthless statue list. They didn't want to get beat out by Ray Lewis' statue

Woke statues are to replace historical monumnents.
Maybe they'll move Floyd's head to the front of the Museum of Natural History to replace the racist Teddy Roosevelt monument they are taking down.:-k

He’s no hero and I’ve not seen the statue but since it was built contemporarily maybe it was built to reflect hope for change or a turning point. I have no idea, you’d have to ask whomever commissioned it or created it. I don’t think Emmet Till is necessarily a hero but statues of him don’t bother me. He was a young man who’s tragedy signaled a turning point or hope for change no matter how small or slow. Funny the white folk that consider that slow process complete. It isn’t.

If you look at when the majority of confederate statues were built it’s really interesting. Most were not constructed during or prior to war nor right after losing. Most came in flurries (like the rush now for voter laws) and correlate with certain time periods or efforts. A gold star to anyone that takes a look and identifies the time periods. They serve a purpose and history and glorifying the subject of the statue were often secondary.

I’m not really for tearing down any statues, confederate losers or otherwise. But I’m also not going to get whipped in to a mental frenzy especially using disingenuous hyperbole and intellectually dishonest arguments. Historic value my ass.

All I know is god bless William Tecumseh Sherman and his efforts to move us forward from the cretinous activities of the south and may god continue to drive this blessed country, the best in the world no matter how imperfect, towards a more perfect union where everyone is treated equal distinguished only by their actions, accomplishments and deeds and not by their race, skin color, or religion. May all those using false and disingenuous arguments to justify the unjustifiable, retain the status quo due to a sense however small of superiority, or those that would want to go backwards to a time of increased or clearer feelings of superiority submit to your mercy and be guided by your touch towards enlightenment. And bless the pygmies and stuff. To the baby Jesus I pray hachi bachi. The end.

Once again TW displays his love for William Tecumseh Sherman, the psychopathic mass murderer of men women, and children including blacks and Injuns that got in his way.

TW also seems to be trying to make some kind of point that confederate statues were not constructed during or prior to war nor right after losing.:-s
Note to TW: Those are usually not the best times for such activities when people have got more critical things on their minds, but I don't think you'd understand.🙄
