First I’ve heard of it

hey hey hey!

I was in an argument with someone on Reddit a few months back that if you're not rich, you have no hope of beating charges or getting a light sentance.

They brought up Cosby as someone with money and fame getting a full sentance. I said he'll get pardoned or released early on some sort of bullchit. He's too well known and too rich to do real time.

The reddit stranger argued the American justice system was strong and fair regardless of race, gender, or income. I said you're full of chit. The only thing against Cosby is he's black, and that isn't much cause he's well loved by the whites so he might as well not be black. He's a rich man sent to jail for the things that rich men do in the US and he's going to get out of it.

Clearly has not been in "the system".

I've done small time, I've talked with many dudes that did the same. Its readily evident that the prison system is made to suppress poor and colored folk. If you're not super poor, or colored, your likelihood of early release is damn near guaranteed. If you are, you get the max.
