Yes...remember citizens, this 'insurrection' was the worst thing since the CIVIL WAR!, well maybe only second to Jim Crow 2.0 state election laws.

Capitol 'Rioter' Sentenced To 8 Months, Not Accused Of Assaulting Anyone Or Damaging Property

BY TYLER DURDEN
MONDAY, JUL 19, 2021 - 01:55 PM

A Florida man who was let into the US Capitol on January 6th was sentenced to eight months in prison - the first such sentence for a felony case in the Capitol 'riot.'

The man, Paul Allard Hodgkins, was not charged with property destruction or assault - yet "contributed to the collective threat to democracy," according to prosecutors, who sought 18 months.

Hodgkins apologized and said he was ashamed of his actions, describing how he was caught up in the euphoria as he followed a crowd of hundreds into the Capitol.

"If I had any idea that the protest โ€ฆ would escalate (the way) it did โ€ฆ I would never have ventured farther than the sidewalk of Pennsylvania Avenue," he told the judge, adding "This was a foolish decision on my part," according to the Associated Press.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Antifa and BLM rioters, looters and vandals have had their charges dropped across the country.

In pronouncing the sentence, Judge Randolph Moss said that Hodgkins had played a role, if not as significant as others, in one of the worst episodes in American history. Still he chose to give Hodgkins a year less in prison.

โ€œThat was not, by any stretch of the imagination, a protest,โ€ Moss said. โ€œIt was โ€ฆ an assault on democracy.โ€ He added: โ€œIt left a stain that will remain on us โ€ฆ on the country for years to come.โ€

The sentencing could set the bar for punishments of hundreds of other defendants as they decide whether to accept plea deals or go to trial. Hodgkins and others are accused of serious crimes but were not indicted, as some others were, for roles in larger conspiracies.

Under an agreement with prosecutors, he pleaded guilty last month to one count of obstructing an official proceeding, which carries a maximum 20-year prison sentence. In exchange, prosecutors agreed to drop lesser charges, including entering a restricted building and disorderly conduct. -AP

I hoped he would get 18 months for his actions.

Soviet-Style Justice: The Persecution Of Paul Hodgkins

January 6 protester Paul Hodgkins committee no acts of violence nor did he damage or destroy any property when he entered the US Capitol Building on Jan 6th. He walked into the Senate Chamber and took a selfie. He walked out after 11 minutes. He now faces eight months in prison and a lifetime as a convicted felon. Meanwhile, violent protesters from last summer's BLM and Antifa riots were not even charged with crimes. That is called political justice and it has no place in a free society. Also today: Strange Covid outbreaks, why are Soros and Gates buying a Covid testing company, and more...

He should have been sentenced to 20 years. As far as a Russian comparison in Russia he would have been shot a be rotting in an unmarked mass grave. As far as BLM and Antifa if you ever find one that did riot or steal let me know. Not only will I sign the petition demanding prosecution, if the DA doesn't prosecute I will work to see the DA is removed from office.

20 years? Man! You neocon nationalists are harsh, you're just shy of calling for a Supreme Soviet style show trial and a firing squad behind the Capitol Building. I guess that's why you call yourselves "compassionate conservatives".

No, seriously check this sh*t out. All they did is read the transcript of a real case.

I saw stupid **** like that every single day when I was a prosecutor. It got to be funny to watch, and even joke about with the judge afterwards- but only when when opposing counsel would join in. I saw some **** just like the transcript
