A few times I have seen statins discussed here. They cause terrible problems for me. I tried many different ones. I chose to discontinue using statins and take a natural route. I am not suggesting you take my route that is for you and your doctor to decide.

The following link is essentially what I do, also I have added natural antiplatelts.

https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/how-to-lower-cholesterol . It was a risk reward thing for me. I just wanted to throw this out there.

Statins are debilitating, for me plus they create depression for me. My joints ache, my muscles ache, and get fatigued easily when taking them. Again I am making no recommendations. I am sharing information that might be beneficial to you if you have a similar situation.

I've always been a big fan of the Statin Brothers. Most people will say they like "Flowers On The Wall" but I always liked their Gospel stuff.

Hey Jones -

Another possibility to talk to your doc about is Vascepa. It is pharmaceutical grade fish oil in effect. Way more than you can pack in to your diet or those other OTC fish oil capsules without the burp.

My docs only hesitation was cost until I showed her this link. If you have any sort of commercial insurance you can pick it up for $9 for a three month supply.

Just a thought. Not a huge fan of Statins myself for a lot of reasons. Had a Dr. years ago say everyone should be on them due to few side effects yada yada yada. Yea right.

They made me nauseous so my Doc had me try red yeast rice, it worked. I also replaced daily cheese toast with steel cut oats for breakfast. They worked so well I had to reduce the dose.

Delayed taking something for way too long.
On one now, inexpensive, low dose has improved the numbers.
No side effects for me.

If I were to do it over again, would have gotten on them 25 years ago when they first suggested I get on them.
