I sure could go for a nice hurricane onslaught right about now.

Easy for me to say, I'm far enough inland that it would just be a messy wind and rain storm. I also live in a 150 year old furniture factory building converted to apartments. 3 foot wide red brick exterior walls. A franking tornado could wander down the street and we'd probably only have blown out windows.

Oh man, I hope it diminishes before hitting shore.

I think I can speak for Anthony too, waiting impending hurricane can sometimes be the hardest part. You just keep on checking the tracking every six hours from the National Hurricane Center. It can drive you crazy.

Yes! When we lived in Texas we sweated out several hurricanes. Watching clouds swirling like a satellite picture, except they are colored this sick green and you're under them.

In my 56 years I’ve never evacuated or been concerned about hurricanes. Hell as a kid my friends and I would attempt all sorts of stupid bike tricks and other games when we were getting hit with full force winds. As a young adult groups of us would have hurricane parties complete with streaming, spin the bottle and other games.

A couple days ago I looked like it was going to hook about 20 miles east of us but, that didn’t pan out. Now, I’m beginning worry. If we bugged out I’d have to search for a hotel that would accept a Doberman. Also my house is in striking distance of 3 oaks whose trunk diameters are at lead 4 feet. Also have a huge live oak in the back yard whose trunk is 6 feet in diameter. Any or all of those trees could hit the house depending on the direction of the wind. If one does fall I’d need to tarp the roof to keep the 15” of rain we are expecting out. On the bright side, Mom (80) and I can move around the house based on wind direction to keep from being caught under a falling tree.

At least I have bourbon and cigars.
