Mob of 30 Looters Raids Best Buy Store, No Arrests Made

Electronics store in Minnesota hit on Black Friday

A Best Buy store in Minnesota was raided by a mob of 20-30 looters on Black Friday, accoridng to reports.

However, all of the suspects fled the scene with stolen property without police making a single arrest.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. at the electronics store near the Burnsville Center shopping mall in Burnsville, a suburb south of Minneapolis.

The store was open at the time of the robbery and it is yet unclear how much was stolen, WCCO-TV reporter Nick Streiff wrote in a Twitter post.

Police said no weapons were believed to be involved in the incident, according to the post.

Flash mob smash-and-grabs continue at high-end stores in Los Angeles

A rash of flash mob thefts continued in Los Angeles as organized groups grabbed expensive merchandise in pre-Thanksgiving raids on stores in the Beverly Center and a Nordstrom in Canoga Park.

A security guard was attacked with bear spray as several people entered the Nordstrom at the Westfield Topanga & The Village shopping center in Canoga Park on Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a news release.

In interviews with local TV stations, LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton said the burglars made off with several high-end purses.

Hamilton told CBS Los Angeles that extra officers had been deployed to the shopping center but the burglars were able to avoid them.

The LAPD was also investigating a similar incident in which groups entered several stores in the Beverly Center on Wednesday, grabbed merchandise and ran out.

I would suspect most people that take part in looting are of no political affiliation.

I would suspect their life is such that they spend little to no time at all thinking about politics, because most of their time is spent on survival.

They simply see an opportunity and react.

so...the thefts are not political statements and once again the guy who is against Democracy in America (dumb-ocracy sound familiar?) is adding criminals into the majority of Americans who think he is wrong and are therefore Marxists or something equally bad.

Crime is political Soey. It's a reflection of how politicians operate.
The young criminal to-be sees the example set by progressive government that having a lack of morals, and engaging in larceny and violence are good.
They are emulating their political leaders who egg them on to commit crimes even if they don't realize it They are convinced that they deserve the free stuff they loot and it's righteous that they can burn buildings when they're mad.

I would disagree, they are crimes if opportunity. They opportunity was the cover of a protest. Stupid criminals will invariably riot and loot given the opportunity.

Smash-and-grab thieves attack stores around the country, California security guard shot dead as crime rages

Smash-and-grab looters targeted stores across the country ahead of Thanksgiving and over Black Friday weekend, robbing stores of thousands of dollars in merchandise and even leaving one California security guard dead as he tried to protect a news crew that was reporting on the crimes.

"We tried to stop them," Home Depot employee Luis Romo told FOX 11 of a "flash mob" targeting the store in Lakewood, California, on Black Friday. "We closed the front entrance and they put their sledgehammers up and whoever got in the way, they were going to hurt them."

The group of eight robbers stole hammers, crowbars and other tools, swiping about $400 worth of merchandise. Such tools have been used in other smash-and-grab robberies in the state, including in a Nordstrom in Walnut Creek, California, last week.

I was thinking about it... it was a pretty good play for a bunch of criminals.

High risk high reward type play, almost like a modern day train robbery or something.

Hit them at night on Black Friday when security was short, stores were understaffed and crowds were huge.

It's very high risk because loose lips sink ships, sounds like they had a bunch involved.

Hell, half of them might not even know what a senator is.

RayR, wrong. Durring the crusades the high end estimate was 9 million people died in the crusades. The world population estimate was 70 million people. 12.8% of humanity died. In China under Mao, the high end estimate was 65 million people were murdered. The Chinese population estimate at the time was 540 million. 12.0% of the Chinese population died. Try putting best available facts into your assumptions instead of an uninformed guess.
