a few here may recall the old Celtic great, the smooth shooting guard on the Bill Russell teams of the 60's that seemingly won it all every year.

Not many before nor since have been able to master that beautiful pull up bank shot that Sam perfected, and not many ever walked through life with the modesty and quiet dignity of Jones either...despite facing the indignities of others wherever he went during his fine career.

Just a great human for a kid of my age to have had the good fortune to watch and learn how to carry oneself.
And now the "Jones Brothers" backcourt has been reunited. Sam, please say hello to KC for me.

back then, drafted players sat and watched and learned for a few years. Sam and KC Jones watched Cousy and Bill Sharman until Red decided they were ready.
They were part of the first all Black starting five in NBA history.

Saw him play many times at Madison Square Garden. Usually went home disappointed after a Knicks loss.
Truly a class guy.
