When "Marvel Voices: Pride #1" is released next month, two new mutant transgender superheroes, and their flying turtle, will be taking their first steps into the Marvel Universe.

Shela Sexton, also known as Escapade, and her best friend and fellow transgender mutant hero Morgan Red will embark on a "high-flying, yet intensely personal mission," Marvel Comics announced this week. The duo will be accompanied by a genetically modified flying turtle named Hibbert, who they "liberated" from a laboratory.

Speaking with Marvel, Escapade co-creator Charlie Jane Anders described Shela as "a cool weirdo," who's "a total goofball," with a "profound loyalty to her friends."

Where and when will this ridiculousness end,

Not overly surprising when you consider Marvel & DC both have a long history of introducing characters and storylines that tend to reflect controversial and/or shocking current events. Drug addiction, alcoholism, discrimination, mental/physical/sexual abuse, sexuality, etc. have all been covered at one point or another. It doesn't end as long as it sells issues

What ridiculousness? It's a 100% fiction movie for god's sake!
And, I would bet big bucks sexuality is not part of the story- no sex or nakedness.
Don't talk about it; don't see it; don't let any kids you are in charge of see it; and boycott Marvel.
That's about all you can do if it bothers you too much. There are plenty of people who will go see it and enjoy doing so.

(Lastly, although I am not Slimboli, RAM, Drafter or Frank, and since you are a relative noob around here, I believe this thread belongs in the Political Section, NOT General Discussion section! OPMMV on this.)

^^ not even a film version as of yet. Good old fashioned 100% illustrated comic book. Though your point remains. Parents are the reason I didn't have a massive stash of Playboys as a teenager
