San Francisco……


A man riding a motorized unicycle died early Wednesday morning in a collision with a Recology recycling collection truck in San Francisco's Hayes Valley neighborhood near Oak and Octavia streets, officials said.

"Our truck was driving north on Octavia Boulevard when it was struck near the rear of the truck by a motorized unicycle," a statement from Recology, the company in San Francisco that collects garbage and recycling, said. "Safety is Recology’s paramount priority, and we are deeply saddened by the loss of life in this tragic accident."

The San Francisco Police Department said it received a report of a vehicle collision involving injuries at 4 a.m. and found the injured male.
