If you have Comcast Cable in your new location, they have excellent deals on cell service if you're a cab/e or Internet customer.

A friend of mine did just that recently. (Comcast is the cable company in our area). She packaged the cable, internet, and cellphone. The cell phone service is actually runs on Verizon's cell network but Comcast handles the billing (as I understand it).

Her total bill actually went down if you add up what she was paying for cable and internet + AT&T cell phone. I don't know if there is a contract involved Re: the cell phone part of the package.

If you have unlimited data and good reception at home, you can reliably use it as a hot-spot that might be faster than your current home speed(s).

Just a word of caution if you stream a lot of content. Some of the unlimited plans start to slow your connection speed once you get to a certain amount of data.

I have a Moto G Play (2021 model). I think it was like $100 for the phone at Wally World around Christmas time. My past 3 phones have been Motorola and haven't had any issues with them. Ok, the camera ain't the 1 brazillion pixels but it's a phone... . I ain't takin' pictures from my phone and expect them to be blown up into a poster print or anything. 13-megapixel is just fine for my needs.

Nothing fancy, it makes and receives calls (kinda like a phone is meant to do), text, web surf but who uses their phone as a primary device to surf the web? The damn screen is too small... and trying to type on a phone is a PITA.

My cell plan is through Verizon. $25/month (originally $40 then a $10 discount for loyal customer, $5 discount for auto pay on the bill) plus taxes and stuff and it comes to a bit under $30/month. Plus I'm not locked into any contract or anything.
- Unlimited minutes for calls.
- Unlimited texts.
- 5 GB data/month that rolls over unused data each month. I probably use 1 MB of data/month (on an extreme case) over the cell towers. If I do use the phone for web stuff or music streaming it's most likely running on a WiFi connection at work so that doesn't count on the data usage.
- Can also use it as a WiFi hot spot if I really needed it to.

Comcast/Spectrum in our area does this, making its service unacceptable at times.
