I just lit up a Macanudo and with the first puff the thing tasted foul. Either sour, burnt, or ammonia. I can’t exactly put my finger on it but it was God awful and something I never tasted in a stick before.
I guess every once in a while you get a bad one but wow!

Afaik, bad tasting cigars are generally due to poor storage, i.e., too dry for an extended time. Not saying that you stored them incorrectly but depending on where you got it from, there may have been lapses of proper humidification.

I have them in a newly established Tupperdore withe cedar trays, bovedas, and 68% Rh.
I’ve smoke out of this Tupperware recently and no issues. I will try another Macanudo tomorrow

Macanudos aren't that bad. I have enjoyed a few. But none lately I will say.

They did all right for me early on, and I'd still probably smoke some of the Inspirados if one was handed to me.

98.2% of us all had a similar journey. Hell, if I tried an LFD Double Ligero too soon in that process, I probably would've thought I didn't like LFDs.

My advice is to let them sit and smoke other stuff for a while. Return to them in a year, and see if they're better.

I bought some MoW Puro Authenticos a while back. Smoked one and was disappointed. I let 'em sit for a while, and eight months later, they were much better. A year later, better still. I smoked one the night before last, and thought it was pretty excellent. And, I like that I only paid about $2.50 a piece for them.

I've had numerous similar experiences. They could be too green, weren't store properly for a while, etc. Give 'em time.
