Aging remains a bit of a mystery. I understand that some sticks need to age a few weeks or longer, depending on the type. But is there a way to know when they were rolled? Am I laying in a few packs of MF Le Bijous and just letting them sit there for a few weeks, months or years?

Am I over thinking this? I’ve been known to do that…

I typically let mine sit for at least a year.
They are pretty good ROTT (after a travel nap of course)
Good at a year…
Really good at 2+ years…

I once smoked a 5yo petite rob, followed (next day) by a 2yo rob…………about the same, with the 5 yo being just a bit “smoother”

Just pick one of your Le Bijou fivers, and smoke one out of it every 6 months……….keep notes……..and you will find your sweet spot

5 packs and loose bundles can be hard to tell. I tend to go off the received date for those

Full boxes will usually have a date stamp on them, though that's not true across the board

I heard Tony used to have to roll his dates in flour to find da wet spot... 😟

On sealed boxes and 5 packs, I write the date I received them. Once I open a box, I take 7 or 8 sticks out of the cello and put them back in the box. Once I open a 5 pack, I take them all out of the cello.

Out of the cello = ready to smoke
