I've always removed cigars from those cellophane or plastic wrappers they come in to bundle as a five pack. I leave the individual wrappers on the cigars and then have loose cigars in piles in my humidors. Leaving them bundled would tidy up the humidor but not sure they would breathe the way they should. I think I'm still going to remove the five pack plastic but wondered what everyone else is doing.

I smoke it. I smoke everything that comes in the box, bubble wrap and all. Even those little Wine Club cards they give you as a promotion. If I'm paying to have it shipped, it gets smoked. Waste not, want not.






When I don't smoke it, I take the cigars out of the 5ver wrappers and put them in old boxes in the humis.

Good idea about boxing but I think I'd need more humidor space to pull that off. Maybe I'll try.

I don't think they would wrap the fibers in anything that would hurt them.. I leave them as is.. until I want one... 🇨🇮

I'm an outer packaging slitter too. I think it promotes a little more ability for air/humidity exchange but they are still in a nice bundle for organized storage*

* I'm probably the last person that should preach on organized storage. I use to be pretty anal on keeping track of what I have and where they were organized but I've gotten lazy over the years. I have many loose singles, 5ers, nearly empty boxes with 2, 3, 4 cigars left in them that are not properly organized. Plus it adds to excitement of the treasure hunt when tuperdor diving. "I still have some of these (insert cigars that I forgot that I had)?"

Good idea about boxing but I think I'd need more humidor space to pull that off. Maybe I'll try.

I bought a couple IP67 plastic containers of a 50 liter size. These are pretty good sized boxes. I can drop a desktop 150 humidor right inside along with a whole bunch of other stuff. They are great for the odd sized box of cigars and whatever else. Seems like lots of guys using Sistema branded from Amazon or maybe elsewhere. Home Depot has brand called Ezy Storage that comes in a few sizes. Drop your Boveda or Humicare or whatever right inside with cigars and boxes and snap the lid.
