Just got a few singles I wanted to try from CB and they were spongy, mushy and practically impossible to smoke. I’m dry boxing but I’m a little ticked. I had to toss a good part in of an Ashton last night. My bad for not immediately pickup how soft it was but it should not have arrived in that condition

Most online vendors have their stock at the upper range of RH storage.
Let them sit for a couple months minimum

Ashton’s are very good smokes. Iffin’ you smoked it ROTT then, as KOTC said, they’re too wet.

Patience you must have my young Padawan. 🌫

And BTW, dry boxing isnt going to help a cigar that is at too high an RH.
All that will happen is the wrapper will dry out, but much of the binder and filler will still be too moist.
Then you will have real burn issues.

Bury them somewhere and smoke them over Christmas.

If it’s under filled waiting isn’t going to help none.

BTW CBid didn’t roll em buddy.

Thanks for the tips gents. I did talk to the CB rep and she was very helpful. She explained, like King said, that they keep them at a higher rh for shipping. That’s cool and makes sense. I didn’t know that!
Anyway, no harm no foul. It’s on me for not realizing that the thing needed some time.
ZRX I didn’t even make the connection that it may have been under filled, so that’s a possibility, and like you said, CB didn’t roll em!
On the upside, I learned a few things today!
