This is the time I usually catch up on world events. While perusing the news I see a story about the Elites in DAVOS related to coffee. Since my day normally begins with me grabbing my coffee maker from its spot at the end of my truck bunk and brewing a pot before I get up I found that this was something I might want to read. So I clicked on the article.

It seems some enlightened individual thinks that the Juan Valdez’s of the world are but another evil antagonist that if unchecked will destroy the planet.

Swiss banker Hubert Keller, a so-called “agenda contributor” said at the event last week that the climate is being negatively impacted by human consumption of coffee.

He went on to say that the fractured ownership of land used in the monoculture of coffee was contributing CO2 to the environment. Though he didn’t mention any data that would indicate actual volume or validity of his argument.

First is he saying that instead of the single crop coffee plantations owned by the Juan Valdez’s of the world were instead consolidated under the ownership umbrella of say Archer Daniels Midland, Conagra or some other global consortium then they would somehow contribute less CO2. Does he think those conglomerates can somehow replace Juan and his feces dropping pack mule Burrito with some alternative system that somehow reduces CO2 emissions?

He probably thinks these behemoths can figure out an alternative to Juan and Burrito picking and packing out beans from a Columbian mountainside and cultivate coffee. Perhaps he has enlisted his buddy Georgie Porgy who in turn used one of his dark money funded NGO’s to commission a convoluted study that proves a laboratory that rotates between coffee and tofu production can save the planet.

But what if it’s evil coffee makers like the mini 5 cup model I keep at the foot of my bunk are the real planet assassins. Maybe he thinks we should all just drink plain water instead. If that’s the case then an unlikely coalition made up of the thermos bottle wielding Johnny Lunchbuckets of the world and the baristas of Starbucks can defeat this unholiest of jihad’s aimed at decaffeinating mankind.

If we need to save carbon, lets stop all seagoing shipments of oil and natural gas, Europe. California and China will be cold and quiet.

The answer to both is around 3,000.

Interestingly enough, the company my wife just retired from sends people to Davos WEF. They have three people there now. She would sometimes get involved with the scheduling. So what happens is the VIPs fly into Davos on one of the corporate jets and are dropped off. The jet then flies to a location in Germany and sits until it is time to fly back and pick them up. There is not room for all the jets to all park at Davos. It probably would make a bad visual as well see 1,000+ private jets in one place while they talk about you eating bugs and not getting coffee.

1,000+ private jets? That sure is a lot of Climate Change. 😰

I hear cows are farting and polluting the environment and stuff... so I'll do my part and eat more beef.

Plus with the cost of everything going crazy- our home insurance is double what it was three years ago, non gourmet bugs might be the only thing we will be able to afford.
