So, I had a Foundation Tabernacle cigar a week ago and something tasted really different about this cigar that I couldn’t put my finger on.

Someone in the lounge recently told me that it’s “hints of salt” and compared it to an MF Le Bijou in that regard. I was wondering if you all could think of any other cigars that have a salty note.

I agree the Tabernacle is a little salty. I love that salty twang. I find the following cigars to be salty. I've talked to many ppl who agree the Partagas Black is the saltiest they've ever had.

Partagas Black (very salty)
Liga 9 and T52
Undercrown maduro
AB Magic Toast

HUZZA, I’ll probably get some hate mail for this list. When I say hints of salt, that is a good flavor for me, so these are not overpowering salty flavors but just light, balanced notes for me. This list is what I can find in my tasting notes.

Notes of salt:
San Andres often has that salty mineral taste, especially the darker leafs
Habano wrapper less often than San Andres but I’ve noted it frequently
La Perla Habana BP Roja
Hojo Amistad by AJ Fernandez
La Gloria Cubana Esteli and the Wavell Classic
Chillin’ Moose Connecticut Habano Rosado
CH Sobremesa Robusto Largo
DE Herrera Esteli Brazilian Mata Fina Short Corona Gorda
Camacho Trip Maddie Robusto
Latitude Zero Signature Maduro BPToro
Room 101 Muzzle Loader Gordo 6 x 60
Camacho Ecuadorian Habano
Tatuaje Caballero Robusto
Aging Room Quattro Maestro
Cuba Libre Robusto
Punch Gran Puro
Partagas Black (100% the only Partagas I like)
La Herencia Cubana Toro
Punch Rare Criollo Rothschild 4.5 x 50
LPH Black Pearl Rojo Double Toro Gordo 6 x 60

EDIT:
I will be happy to send you a sampler of anything I have left on this list. I usually smoke right through my fivers then move on so I’m not sure what I have left.

Dang, sounds like the Partagas black is next on my buy list.

Also thanks Jeebs, but I’ve seen your bombs and I would not wish that on myself or anyone without an ice chest to store their cigars. 😂

Huh………….I smoked a few Partagas blacks 10-12 years ago and thought they were awful.
Only let them rest a few months………maybe they needed more time, or I got a bad batch…

Might need to revisit some day.

Last NC Party I smoked was a Sabroso. About 30 years ago they were my go to smoke. Got away from them then found one about 10 years ago inside a box of junk in my closet. Fired it up. Smoked great since it was a tubo and fairly well sealed. But haven’t bought one in decades.

Party Black was one of my eye opening smokes early on. Not saying it compared to many I've smoked since, but it helped break me out of my Baccarat and Acid phase

Cuban Sancho Panza has a touch of salt in its profile.

this is wild. I had a Crowned Heads JD Howard Reserve last night that had a bit of saltiness to it. I had never had a cigar with that flavor before, and i did like it. Weird coincidence that this is coming up today!
anyway, Im going to look into Jeeblings list and give some of those a try.

I thought I was the only one that thought they were awful -extra rest didn't help at all. Stopped buying Partagas completely shortly after burning whatever I had left in stock.

Hints of salt? Sounds like flavor profile from a new Drew Estate line called Deez Nutz…🇨🇮
