If you have a cigar that starts to tunnel, gently squeeze the cigar and turn it into a kind of box pressed shape. Basically just flatten the cigar to close the tunnel but be gentle so you don't tear the wrapper.

Pinching/restricting flow through the cigar can help with uneven burns too.

I took a cigar on a walk while on vacation. Needed to correct a bad burn but my lighter died and I was too far to walk back. Careful blowing, turning, massaging brought it back around.
