In response to another thread, I stated that I thought the most frequently HEARD quote in our various homes was:

"Honey, I won't buy any more cigars"

Please ... be completely honest ... if you've never uttered that phrase or one very much like it, let us know who you are ... Rickamaven, we know you'll sign up below ... anyone else ???? ... honestly ????

"One more box will show up next week and then that's it for a while."

THL hit the nail on the head, I've said that too many times to count. Last time was about a week ago and then I went and won another auction last night. I guess it's a good thing I've never clearly defined what "a while" means. A week counts as a while, right guys? 🙂

Sorry Steve, I can't read. I have used that phrase.

I believe my exact quote was: "I'm not going to be ordering any more cigars." [with the ending of the sentence left off]. The ending is: ...until I free up some space in my 'dors."

LOL, I'm not fooling anybody with it either. My wife's standard reply is,"That's what you said last week."

HAH! I do that too. Then she gets mad and says that I'm just doing it to remove her ammunition. Tough cookie, huh?

2nd most frequently heard quote at my house is:

But, Steeeuheeeve !!! You don't NEED any more cigars!!"

Perhaps there's actually a tie for which is most frequent ... LOL

i actually went a couple of months earlier this year. and now i am about to run out of room in my humidor. and i just ordered a box of punch punch. maybe after that one i will hold off a while. but i actually promised my wife once that i would not buy any cigars for 6 months ( man, that was a long 6 months) but it did give me time to work on inventory.

Why yes I have used that phrase. As a matter of fact I've used it when I met the Queen of England. Perhaps you've met my wife? Morgan....Morgan Fairchild....yeah, that's the ticket!

Nope, never said it, never will.

She is always saying something....or I think it's something about my cigars. Can't really understand it. It sounds kind of like a cross between a weedwacker and Charlie Browns teacher.

Waaah waah wah WEEEEEEEEAAAA nanananananah...cigars! nananaaaweeeeeeEEEEEEEEEAAAAA!

My line is "I will only buy cigars that are really good deals." So now I underbid everything but bid on more lots, it works out to about the same. I just have to intercept the UPS guy so she doesn't find out.

Sorry Steve, I buy cheap cigars in bulk and expensive ones rarely so:

Mine is uttered while curled up in a ball on a cold bathroom floor, after leaving homage to the porcelin god:

I will NEVER drink again! If I live through this night.

...not yet, honest. I get the "Don't you think you have enough cigars." look, but frequently when a box arrives, my wife opens it, unwraps the cello and places each cigar in one of the humidors. I don't buy myself much. And I put in a lot of work around the house (just finished redoing the fireplace and mantle). Cigars (last night a Ashton Maduro #40 and pint of Guiness) are one way I reward myself. I don't think she expects me to work without rewards. Begrudging me that expense would be the same thing.
