Hello all... I really wish I had taken the time to read more of the forum messages prior to bidding on some of the auctions. I would've never had my money on the Thompson Hinds! Your collective cigar intelligence is remarkable and I intend to continue to glean from it! My thanks...

Most of what I have on-hand is what came in the Humidor my bride gave me as my groom's gift. Evita's - which I dutifully tried out and was not impressed with. Of course, all I could say was "These are great honey!".

some things are best learned by experience ... because they're cheap doesn't necessarily make them bad ... my best advise is to try 'em all (if you can) and keep track of what you like and what you don't ... then buy more of what you like ...

Welcome RJ.

Try the 5-pack lots. Enough of a sample to get a good idea if you'll like the cigar before investing in a whole box.

Stick around, it's a great group here, and you'll learn a lot about cigars. I have.

Glad you are here RJ. Consider yourself lucky. I didn't get anything as a groom gift from my wife. And she hates the fact that I smoke cigars (but tolerates it). Yep indeed you are a lucky man. Welcome and make sure to leave all dead horses lay where they are.

Welcome RJ. My wife also gifts me cigars. It's just a matter of training to make sure she gets the Primos. LOL. She gave a combo of Fuente Untold Story, Between the Lines, Opus X and Padron all in a 15 count cigar caddy. She's a keeper!

Hello all.
I never did properly introduce myself. I stumbled on this site a few months ago but only started bidding last month. Before this, I was dropping quite a bit of money at the local cigar shop. Anyhoo, "kaikai" is my 4 y/o sons nickname, real name is Harvey. Nice to meet you all. This forum holds a wealth of knowledge for a newbie. I take it that the cigar to SteveS is a type of initiation rite?

It's not a rite, it's a payoff! We give him cigars and he let's us live! Send him a cigar...quick!

Welcome to you both. I've only been around for a month or so. There is a great wealth of knowledge here and a good bunch of people.
Just a warning... read through a lot of the older postings and get familiar with the so called "Dead Horse" questions...don't ask them !! I learned the hard way!!

RJ, be careful....VERY careful. This site has a way of getting away from you. That aside, welcome!

BTW do a search before you start a thread...it'll help keep the wolves at bay;)

Welcome RJ. I can only repeat what some of the other posts said - Great bunch of people on here - always ready to help, always an honest answer.

My wife gave me a box of cigars for Christmas.....then told me I better smoke them outside!! I guess I'm 50% there, better than 0%

Welcome! Like others said, try try try them all! Hehe!
I have found the descriptions on the auctions here to be very honest. CBid will even tell you if the stogies stink! Get 5-packs to start. Happy smoking!
