I started putting my smokes into a access database and I have gone through 2.5 humidors and the count is at 546. ummmm I still have 5 humidors left and one is 300 count and one is a big tub like in Rox picture of his cigar area. I think I have gotten out of control here.

ughh just remembered the two humis at work.

rediculous!!!!!!!!!!!

having that many smokes is certainly not excessive; cataloging them, however, IS.

I thought long and hard about inventorying my stashes; I was going to use an old version of Quickbooks and approach it like a retail business.......pricing, suppliers, date purchased, box codes, etc would be easy to manage.

Also, trades, bombs, and so forth could be documented.

Then I realized how anal that sounded and so I just got drunk instead.

I use a index card file box, each index card is put into box by brand name with size, price , where bought and comments about how it smoked, with a star rating. (1 to 10) each brand is given a dot colored sticker with a second color for sub division. Then a matching sticker is dated and stuck on cello, so i can tell how long each one was sleeping in the humi. so when i am drinking i make shure i get the right one sorry i know this is anal also JB

Andy same here. I used to try the spreadsheets, write down what I liked and didn't. It started to interfere with my enjoyment of the smokes. At this point I don't even worry about what I have. Hell, I don't even know what I have. That's what makes it nice. I can tell when I'm running low, it's when I drink wine, then I get more.....

Seek help before it's too late. Not only would you have all the work to set it up, with bombs and normal smokage it's going to be a pain to keep up. I bet you're the type that counts the number of cheerios in the box before eating any. 🙂

Back in the days of cassette tapes, I started to catalogue my tapes when I realized I was buying tapes I already owned. I didn't need more than one copy of each tape.

There is no such thing as "too many" cigars. I've never looked into a tub or a humi and discovered that I had more of any cigar than I'll ever smoke. Cataloguing takes away valuable smoking time.

Folks, eventually some means of recording your stash is going to be desired. When you spend over ten minutes looking for a 'gar you just KNOW you have but can't find...then you know it is too late.

ubsplat, Just finished there are 2976 cherrios. LOL

Pac, you are mistaken my friend. I bought a fiver of Oro Cubanos when I first found the sight. There are 4 left that I know will never be smoken. (smoken? smoked?) LOL

My coolerdor is the adult-version of the Halloween goody bag I had as a kid. Each year, I'd have a ton of candy that would sometimes last me through the second day of November.

Now, as an adult (in years if not maturity level), I do something similar: it's a really expensive grab bag. Sure, I suppose I could enter each stick into a spread sheet and track all kinds of info, and alphabetize them by wrapper type, country of origin, etc. -- and I'd love to have all that. I just don't want to have to create it.

My recent cigar info tracking system is this: I quickly glance at the info on the band just before I light up. If it's a Gurkha I sometimes will go online to figure out which one.
