mild/light and fresh tasting, but not in a bad way, just needs more rest IMHO.

Custom rolls... ok. I was just curious. I suppose now that Taboada has passed they had to tag someone else to do the custom rolls.

I think he was. I had 2 of them and shared the other one with my cigar-smoking nephew.

RIP big bro.

One of the best cigars I have had in a long time. Wish I had bought a dozen boxes.

A bit young for this vitola, not one of my favorites. I prefer lanceros, pc's and corona's, sometimes the double coronas when it's really nice outside.

I'm no expert yet, try to smoke mostly cc's, but these are going to be good, IMHO

3rd from the box, but no memory of smoking, think I gifted them, now to bury them for 3-4 more years

Partagas short on an evening stroll. Jul '15.

Still a bit fresh, but damn tasty, with a bit of that strong Partagas pepper that should mellow with another year or so of rest. I have 49 left, so the last 25 may have to get buried. I believe these will be fantastic at the 5 year mark. It burned razor straight, the draw was perfect, and the flavor, aside from the strong pepper finish, was very good.

How often do any of you guys run into plugged cubans? I've had a couple VR's recently that were plugged pretty bad. Definitely cuban tobacco just bunched real bad at the head.

Every so often, that's why it is good to have something like the havana saver to poke through and get a channel opened up through the crossed leaves. Even a bamboo skewer will work.

Have not had a totally plugged Cubanos in years. Some rolled a little tight but smokable. Most marcas have been using draw testers for years now.

More common with older boxes. 98-02 were the worse by most accounts but improved from there. From 2012 or so on I'd say they are at least as consistent as most other premium cigar manufacturers.

Alfredo Martinez Robusto custom rolled 3/15.

One badass cigar. Reminds me of a Toabada custom that X gifted years ago. Thanks to Scot for this one.
