Maybe 5 years ago I used to enjoy them alot more. Not sure if my tastes are changing or the sticks aren't as good. When they are rolled well they aren't a bad smoke but for the price there are better options out there IMO. For an inexpensive smoke the DE Nica Rustica is a much better daily 'gar if you don't mind all the smoke it puts out.

Been wanting to try those, I’ll pick up a fiver.

Probably could have used a bit more rest. Picked a couple up from cbid about a week and a half ago. Couldn't resist that gorgeous shiny maduro wrapper. Flavors are still good though just a bit muted. Glad I have a second to try further down the road.

Glad you enjoyed it Jake.

Back in the “good ol’ days”, I was able to buy 8-5-8 Maddies for under $3 per so made it easy to buy a bunch of them. I’ve said it for awhile but they are a great candidate for an everyday smoke...if I had an everyday smoke.

@palama. I’m afraid those good Ol days may be coming to an end. Cigar prices aren’t terrible now if you are selective about what you buy. I fear the government may tax them like cigarettes soon. I think if that happens I’ll have to give them up. I really did enjoy both cigars I’ve tried from your care package sir. Very nice selection

Glad you enjoyed the two and interested to hear if you like the others too.

For me, the good ol’ days ended when MAP started being enforced in late 2014. Not only were the 8-5-8 Maddies going for under $3 (...with careful auction discipline...) but I could get PAM64 Coronas and Principes for under $6 too. I rarely look at Fuente or Padron auctions these days since there’s no way the lots would start at $1.00 and you could possibly get a real good deal.

Of course, for the real FOGs here, getting super deals on good smokes probably ended well before that.

65386 - RB Genesis The Project robusto. Meh. Although to be fair, I was kinda preoccupied, and that's the only one I have smoked, but not that impressed.

65387 - Tat Havana VI verocu. This was the first Tatuaje I've smoked, and it was good. I'll probably buy more.

Cut with band saw and both blade And hand grip roughed in with belt sander. Used ash or poplar can’t remember, fu-quin board was $15 that I remember!
