Okay, so the post above was indicative of some of the crap that you guys gave this NOOB for giving Ghurkas a bad wrap so I took one and smoked it...a nice (so the ratings indicated) 10th anniversary edition smoke that seemed to have some age on it...Guess what? It was as bitter as hell. Just to make sure that I wasn't making a snap judgement, I smoked the crappy thing all the way to the nub and it was crappy when I started and crappy all the way to the end...so there. No more Ghurkas for me...take and smoke all you want, I'm sure they'll make more!

I've actually had a few decent Gurkhas...triple ligero, evil, titan. I've gotten quite a few in trades and as "prizes" and originally thought they were very popular here. Then it dawned on me, but I kept my mouth shut...I was afraid I'd get banned...no sarcasm alert. I plan to fire them up one day...

It's in Fredred. Mathen got it today and he's dropping it off tomorrow to me and off it will go again. Sweet I just noticed that it's going to Willy V. I'll put your Ryder Cup winnings in there and save some postage.

I have hand delivered this to Pro earlier this afternoon. So uh, no confirmation number, but he has it.

Now, let me say something snarky: Some of y'all need to develop a little bit of shame. I mean seriously, there was some ass in this pass. To those of you who felt like it was ok to dump your dog rockets, tsk tsk. I know this wasn't the "high end" box pas or the "elitist basstid" box pass, or anything highbrow, but seriously guys? I'm honestly surprised I didn't see a Phillies blunt in that mix. Come to think of it, that unbanded in there might have been.

I wasn't even going to make any takes on this one because the pickings were so slim I didn't want to take absolutely all five sticks that were decent. But then when I made my puts, I couldn't close the lid on the tupperware and didn't have another one that would fit in that box so I ended up with:

My Takes:
The JDN
The La Aurora Corojo
LFD Double Ligero

My Puts:
601 Blue
601 Red
DPG Blue
DPG Black
Undercrown Robbie.

I kinda had a color thing going on, what can I say?

Proposed interim rule: $4 minimum MSRP. Which we all know means about $2 here. Which is still about a 100% improvement over about half this box.

Oh the humanity.

Mathen gotta agree bud. The pickings were pretty slim. Added a couple in there thought people would enjoy and a number to the troop bag. Hopefully the balance is restored as this thing moves.

I took 3 and put 4 plus a couple of swag items from VA for Kombat.

This box has had it. I didn't have another box at home while I was packing big enough so I taped it up pretty good. Willy V will probably need to grab another box to send it on.

Willy your Ryder Cup 6'er is in the 6 finger bag marked Willy V. There are a couple of high VSU sticks in there. Sorry but I was out of Gurkhas and Ron Mexicos!

It's heading to Willy tomorrow.

Ok, I was probably being a little harsh. There were some decent smokes in there, but usually you have one or two you shake your head at and then you have to pick like a kid in a candy store from all the goodies in there. Not this one. At least 50% total suckitude, and the ones that are smokeable are either my regulars (there are a couple of DPG blues in there now) or totally not in my wheelhouse (fuente's, San Andreas).

The point is at least one person dumped every POS he ever got suckered on in there, and that ain't cool.

I thought the same thing when the posts started popping up about the quality of the cigar's that are in the box now. Probably used the box as his own personal humidor for 2 months and when the heat was turned up he had to run out and buy dog rockets to replace whatever he smoked. Dunno if this is true this is just my own personal thoughts and in no way reflect the opinions of the box owner....;-) I have learned one thing if I ever do one of these. Keep it small 10 to 13 people tops and all 10 to 13 have to be well established and well known on the forums. I've already been in one box pass that started and finished already and it took maybe 6 weeks tops with zero problems with the quality of the cigars put and taken. When you have people posting that they are intentionally taking dog rockets out just to help out the next people down the line you know you've got some great people here.

The elitist pass did something similar. It was full of nice sticks, but instead of HTF high dollar sticks, a lot of it turned into common high dollar sticks.

Pro's going to take one for the team here if there are no objections.

1. Getting a new and larger box.
2. Getting a bigger Troop tupperware
3. Dumping about 15 box pass sticks in with the Troop tupperware.
4. Replacing those 15 box pass sticks with 15 good ones.

This will delay the box by one day but if there are no objections, this will head Willy's way on Thursday.

Lol that cracked me up. Also made me feel old..... heh Say that to my kids and they'll look at you like you're retarded. I don't think the Brady Bunch is on anywhere now. Not even TV land which I watch for the MASH reruns. God... I used to watch the Brady Bunch, then Happy Days, then Lavern and Shirley every day!

Just to jump on the bandwagon........

I pulled 3 handfuls of trash, i.e. candy wrappers, torn up paper etc. out of the bottom of the box when I had it. The wife said it looked like it had been stored in a kids room.

I did try and put something other than matches in the swag pile though.

Guys, I had the box fairly early and there were no bad sticks in there when I opened it. I took three and put 4, not that I remember what exactley I put, but nothing under say 8 bucks. I am sorry it got to this point.
