Stevie Wonder - At the Close of the Century...nearly four hours of greatness....not very many to skip, either. I know SITKOL was absolutely huge, but the stuff from Innervisions is incredibly better, IMHO

Led Zeppelin - BBC Sessions

Out of all the Led Zeppelin releases...this one is my fave...LOVE the 1st one, and it's prolly the strongest debut album evah but this unearthed collection has them in their prime at the BBC. They were untouchable at this point.

AWESOME!!!

I LOVE the album...saw them live too. I really really really hope that there's more to this project. I think it's the best thing both have done....EVER...with their musical gifts. I like Oysterhead better than Primus and consider Les to be a master of the 4 strings (ever notice you NEVER see Slimboli and Les in the same room...at the same time?) and Sean has never devoted the time or energy to anything musical worthwhile. Everything has sounded half ass or meh. On this album I thought Sean is playing up to Les' abilities and stretched himself. "The Cricket and the Genie Movement I & II" anre the "meat and potaotes" of the album, my favorite track is "Boomerang Baby" with "Captain Lariat" a close 3rd. "Bubbles Burst" contains what I believe to be Sean's best guitar solo and my least favorite is the Primus styled "Breath of a Salesman"...it seems out of place for the album, but there's no hiding Les' talent.

If possible...GO SEE THEM!

normally I don't look up too many of the things listed here, but usually it works out well when I do. So you being new here, I figured I take a look at allmusic.com.

Nick Cave! I love Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, not everything but a lot. And he cowrote a lovely soundtrack for an Australian Jesse James movie...I think I listed it here not long ago.

I'll have to get my hands on Grinderman.

He wrote the whole damned movie! :) He also wrote Lawless and one or two other films.

His work with Warren Ellis is wonderful. Warren is a big part of Grinderman, on top of being in the Bad Seeds and Cave's partner on the Soundtrack work. Pick up White Lunar if you're into the James movie's music. That's a double album of songs from many of their projects.

I love Nick Cave's music way too much. Got hooked when I was about nine and it totally screwed up my formative years.

In my head while riding the motorcycle to work/base: Dwight Yoakam

In the base gym: Whatever the radio station the staff picked was playing. Fortunately today it was a rock station. Inhales forcibly lifting or doing bicycle intervals to Rihanna/Beyoncé/Miley Cyrus. Ugh

About to get some more Zep/Cult etc. going for some boring work

Luau Music, Disc 1

A compilation of Hawaiian music through the years starting with the famous counch shell from the old Webley Edwards "Hawaii Calls" show. Lots of hapa-haole songs in the first half but eventually Disc 1 ends with Auntie Genoa Keawe's classic "Alika." This works exceedingly well on a Sunday morning with an R44 and a cup of coffee.
