The only CC I have left, other than a couple of gifted ones, are from my "Broken Cigar Collection," which means that either the foot, head or wrapper has a minor problem that is visually imperfect due to minor damage- like a small split at the foot or a minor tear in the wrapper that is of no consequence, but still makes the cigar unsuitable for trading or sale.

So, today I dug into my humidor and found a Trinidad Coloniales, which I smoked on the beach. At least ten and probably 15 years or older. Awesome! Age did this cigar well. It was anything but flat. Perhaps even stronger than when young. Sweet, a little woodsy, with a strong toasted tobacco taste that wasn't too spicy. Nubbed it until my fingers couldn't take it anymore. AWESOME! Wish I had some more...

OUCH!

So that cigar I smoked was worth about $40- plus more for being well aged? Unbelievable!!!

I have my eye on a cab of PLPC. Maybe I will pull the trigger, maybe I won't. PM if you have seen any really good offers on anything. I have been looking, but not finding cigars in my size-ranges and the prices are obnoxious.

Wonder how many years it will take for the market to re-stabilize? I'm betting 4-7 without there being any new hurricanes, covid or supply chain issues. Even then, prices won't come down much, if at all until there is some serious competition and/or over-supply.

Vegueros Centrofino...thanks DED for slipping one into a blind review pass last year...good Cuban flavor profile...I bought a couple tins back then when they were still reasonably priced and I was able to find a special deal...alas, they have nearly doubled in price, if they are available...

Ah, the good old days when a Habanos could be enjoyed for cheaper that a domestic.

'98 Punch Coronas at Hardrock Hotel pool yesterday from a half-box trade for some of my last Fuente stuff about 12 years ago. Roll was a bit tight, but all the flavor was still there and it was uber smooth. Lightly woodsy and nicely sweet in the right proportion. Wow. I'd have never thought a cigar could age that long without loosing some strength. Nubbed it to burnt fingers, then put it on a toothpick for another 5-10 minutes.

Did you have any of the 2018 TEO boxes of these Demi's?
They may have been the best cigars I smoked in the last decade. 2019 is legit as well...still have those. But couldn't hold on to the 2018, they were addicting.

The 2019 is the 1st box I have had. I'm usually not a fan of smaller cigars but these make a great early day smoke if sipped slowly.

Enjoy that box! The 2020's/2021's are no where near as tasty (at least not yet anyway).

Probably the best blind-buy I ever made from a new vendor who had a box that was from 2006 for $300 for the cab of 50. Smoked through it over like 6-7 years and tasted the cigars maturing, changing and hitting their prime over the years. Odly, the smoke was rather blue. It was also a great entre to the demi-tasse.

No mater how hard I try, I simply cannot leave the "darkside." So, I am waiting for my little "windfall" between now and the end of the year to splurge on 75-100 stix- if, in the meantime, my vendors don't keep running out of what I want...

This reminds me, somewhat, of stuff like OX, Rare Pinks and Padron 50th Anniversary that I was looking to buy the last couple of years. Sometimes I'd run across a vendor that had stock but their prices were too absurd so easily passed. Then, I'd go back a few weeks later and they were completely out of stock! Always thought, "WhoTF can afford that kind of crazy pricing?" But realized that there are people out there who have the financial wherewithal to buy things whenever they want to. Eventually I got what I wanted, at prices I deemed reasonable but it did take much longer than anticipated. So to your point about waiting for your "windfall", I wouldn't wait. Sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet and get what you want before they're all gone and you never know when they'll come back into stock and at what price. Nonetheless, take that with a grain of salt and do what's best for you.

I know. I know...
But, I am still waiting so as not lay out the cash prematurely. Otherwise, I am spending it before I get it, which is alway a hard no.

I do, but I actually am very low on the H.Upmann. But I have always loved the Bolivar PC as well, and still have a couple of hundred of them.

I think the H. Up #2 is a better and much more consistent than Monte #2.

down to the last 8 of the last box I bought...it's been among my top two fave CC's, along with the Trinidad lancero... they have unique flavor profiles that differ from most CC's

I have you to thank for my affinity for the Edmundos, which started when you brought a few to Harbortown in Ventura a buncha years ago to share with me...

alas, both of those have become way too pricey for me to enjoy, except in my memories...

Tripleheader MEs! After this one will have only 3 left and don’t foresee buying any more unless prices revert to pre-pandemic levels.

Thanks to Stinger. We herfed at The Row Bar back in 2018 and David gifted me a fine 5er including this Cuban classic.
