I'm about to pick what I thought were called Purple Hull Peas. What would the PC name for those be now?

Amen Gene. I love some Purple Hull Peas with mamas cornbread!

Throw in a fried pork chop and that's a country boys delight!

You sure you're not thinking of okra? Or as I like to call them, snot pods.

Then change the name back to what they were called during the War, Corn Field Peas.

You see, when that devil Sherman laid waste to the South in the fall & winter of 1864, destroying food stores, & the means of producing food the following year, poisoning water wells with carcasses of dead animals, effectively giving a death sentence to women, children, the sick & the elderly, all Union troops left were corn field peas, as they only considered them fit for animal fodder, and since they had already slaughtered or stolen all the animals, there was no reason to destroy the stores of corn field peas.

And that is why they are a staple of luck on New Years Day tables all across the South to this day, because that's all people of the GA/SC/NC had to eat during the winter of 1865.

Yea he effed up. Should have destroyed the peas and never allowed the confederate flag to be flown in the first place. But that's hindsight. It does explain some of the southern inbreeding however with the lack of wimmins and stuff.

Maybe he thought if they were spending time flying flags they's have less time for all the lynchings and stuff. He was wrong.

Those southerners are smart enough to fly flags an Lynch blacks.

We clearly underestimated them.

I will give them that. I don't recall them ever accidently confusing the two and lyncing someone over the capital and flying the stars and bars from a tree.

.... I dunno. I wouldn't bet money that the first one hasn't been done at least once in the South's history.

I make it a point to learn something new every day. As someone who spent a decade bouncing around the south, and was confused every year about this, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED FOR TODAY.

Everyone can go home now. Shows Over.

Native American savages to be clear, but yeah, they were in the South as well as the North.

I have 5% North American Native DNA so I get to say that crap.

Thanks for the information, but I am already part of a nation, the USA. It would be interesting to know how it got there. We got a deal on some DNA testing and it came as a complete surprise. Grandparents on my Mother's side immigrated from Denmark. My Pop's side came from England and France/Germany to Texas. Some where between Charleston, South Carolina and Texas that DNA was added in to the mix.

I’d say it got there the old fashion way – One of your relatives boinked a native.
So was it a savage thing to do, or just doing a savage?

Your white guilt is showing, it could just as easily been a rape during an Indian raid. It might just as well be two people in love and married, who knows.

Well duh. Didn't you get the memo??

List of things okay to make fun of:
Nazis
Southerners
White Supremacists (see Southerners)
West Virginians
Pollacks (that one's never going away)
Catholic Priests (only in relation to altar boys)
Fat men (see: drafter)
Wheel

List of things not okay to make fun of:
Blacks
Indians (feather)
Jews
Fat women (see: drafter)
Retards (exception: wheel)

Hope that clears things up.

Let's be clear. Southern whites, none of the subsets. Just the dumbasses that still want to celebrate losing a war, wanting to enslave people, and boinking relatives.

Yes, I agree, no talking crap about us savage Indians (Feather not Dot).

I find it very offensive that Gene has 5% Cherokee blood in him therefore he can talk about savages like that, I have 10 times that amount of Native blood (Actually registered 5/8ths, not sure how the math on that works out).

In any case, I think it's perfectly fine for you guys to talk chit about everyone on Victor's list except for Indians (Feather), but I do think it's ok for you to talk chit about the other Indians (Dot).

So thank you for your consideration and sensitivity on this matter, because if you were to continue on, I may end up slightly butt hurt and might require a tissue.

That is all.

P.S. I really don't give a flying **** who you guys talk chit about, carry on.
