Yeah they are and I looked earlier to see the price. They were cheaper this summer when they were still running the old style page and not advertising them. thinking about a box but I have plenty of these so not sure yet.

This is bad news.... I wish someone said that before I bought a box last week...

They've got a 100% guarantee of satisfaction. Burn one for yourself, I had a monarca tonight and it was anything but an air ball. If you smoke one and it is an air ball return it for another size but I wouldn't panic.

Because of Delta, Im smoking one of these as we speak. Its very enjoyable. The empty tube will join my Tube collection on my desk.

Glad I could help him make more room in his humidor, while two of my 3 were empty. Had to split the contents of my humidor +his package into the second so they humidified evenly.

Target for this week is to get all 3 filled and setup for the winter.

That Monarca en tubo is from 2009 or 2010. The band on the cigar is the next generation glossy brown and gold, which distinguishes the two. They still have the strength, power and flavor from their glory days. One of my all-time faves. The vintage Monarcas from 2006 aren't as strong but still have some kick.

Have not tried them. The Cetros which are the same ring and just a bit longer are fabulous though.

So in googling I'm seeing two different bands on older Camachos... a matte brown/white vs. a shiny brown/gold. Any differences? Which are these? The pic looks like the former.

I bought monarcas at the same time and they were good. Thought maybe it was just me on the figurados so gave one to my brother in law without pre warning him and he pitched it rather quickly as well for same reason.

Oh and I forgot, I ordered a box of the cetros last night just couldn't pass on a cigar that can't be bought typically anymore.

Welp, these seem to be going faster now so I pulled the trigger on a box of Nacionales rather than jibber jabber while they were sold out from under me.

Thanks you aholes, I just won several boxes on auction here and had wrapped up my spending for the year! Better get on the phone to my bankruptcy attorney again. Angry

as stated in post #156, the OR vintage Camacho Corojos had a brown background with white lettering band that has a flat finish. The later releases have the glossy finished brown background with gold lettering bands. The newer band is slightly larger than the older one.

Whoops, missed that for some reason, thanks. Mr. Cigarobsession didn't care for the brown and gold ones.. said they had no flavor.

I think after ordering 8 boxes last night as me and my friends went thru a box, they are now sold out of the Cetros.

They still stock the Nacionales which are just an inch shorter than the Cetros and the Petite's which are awesome too.

Awesome cigar still as it was back in 07 & 08 when I was smoking the crap out of Camacho and CAO's. LOL

Everybody has a different palate and taste receptors in the mouth and nose. The brown and gold label Corojos were the tastiest strong cigar to me, back when I started smoking cigars a few years ago. I liked the warm wobbly feeling after finishing one. It started my hunt for more powerful cigars...

As I lit up one of my box of figurado last night I was hoping it wouldn't be an "airball". First I admit I do not know what is meant by airball. I did notice it have a loose the whole way through the cigar, however it was every bit as delicious as a monarca.

It could have a tighter draw, but that amazing flavor made me forget about the draw.

Where is the location of these Camacho Corojo originals? One of my all time favorites and I only have about 5 left in my humidor which have been sitting for almost four years. Please let me know where I can find them if they are still in stock!

You seek a great fortune, you three who are now in chains. You will find a fortune, though it will not be the one you seek. But first... first you must travel a long and difficult road, a road fraught with peril. Mm-hmm. You shall see thangs, wonderful to tell. You shall see a... a cow... on the roof of a cotton house, ha. And, oh, so many startlements. I cannot tell you how long this road shall be, but fear not the obstacles in your path, for fate has vouchsafed your reward. Though the road may wind, yea, your hearts grow weary, still shall ye follow them, even unto your salvation.

Absolutely.

And so so good. Unlike other vintage finds, these were definitely stored properly and are absolutely fantastic

Interesting that even 10 year old cigars need at least a tiny bit of rest. I tried one literally ROTT when it arrived and it was quite terrible. Let the rest of them sit for two weeks, tried one again and it was excellent.

Just FYI though... you better really love corojo. Because these, being ALL corojo, have few other flavors to balance them out. I do enjoy corojo but these are pushing even my limits for that flavor.

Interesting.
I find the corojo to be somewhat subdued compared to later releases, and I'm getting some complexity out of these.
I am smoking them very slowly, and alternating draw length and power.
They are smoking very nicely imho, and still pack a bit of a punch.
I have only tried the cetros thus far.
Seriously considering a box of the Nacionales............but I have to stop NOW.
I am WAY overdue for a buying hiatus.
d'oh!

Just scored half a dozen Monarca's. Haven't had any old Camacho's, yet. Big fan of some of the new ones (ABA, Diploma, Blackout), figured it's a safe bet on the old ones

The first cetros I had was about fireproof. From what I've read this isn't uncommon for Honduran corojo to be flame resistant. Im hoping it was because I had just taken the cello off the box. I figure the warehouse they were in is like any other warehouse and sits above 70% rh. I'm hoping a few weeks more rest at about 70% will help them, if not then I'll move a few to my humidor at 65%rh.

Now the monarca that Zody sent me was very good and never needed a relight.

I let mine sit about 2 weeks before smoking them.
I did remove the cello immediately and inspect each box before putting it into the cooler.............................the "opening" aroma was intoxicating...........and it took quite some will-power to not fire one up.............now I'm glad I held off.

Forgot to mention that this is what I did. I took a few Cetros out of the box in my cooler, and put them in one of my humis, and they actually sat there for a few additional days.
My cooler runs at 69.
My humis run 66/67.
Anything I smoke goes into one my smoking humis first........for at least a few days.....but usually a week or two.

They do smell really good, it's a very strong aroma when opening the box.

I'll move a few to my humidor for awhile and post back if they do burn better. I think they will be improved.

Very similar setups on our coolers and humidors. Looks like I just need to rotate out of my cooler ahead of time. I had planned to do this but too often I find myself digging through my cooler for a cigar.

I think I will make half a drawer in my 7 drawer humidor for smokes from my cooler. Move one of each up from the cooler and replace it when I have smoked it.

Glad you enjoyed cobra, I was stoked about being able to share, and I knew you'd cave and get a box or two somehow!
Interesting as I'm one of the oddballs that maintains as close to 70% as possible. I do use an active humidifier (Oasis Magna) and went back to the water beads that came with it and keep a few pounds of 70% heartfelt beads dry in the thirds of my tower to help maintain stability and avoid spikes and sags in moisture levels, really helps with recovery after opening it.

ok, out of the only ones remaining, listed below. which would be the order of preference. I want to get some petit and was wondering about the Nacionales since they are close to the size of the Moncaras, not that the flavor would be the same or the burn, but are they better than the churchill?

churchill
Nacionales
Petit

Nacionales, Petit, Churchill. Just my .03

Between the Cetros, Nacionales and Petits, personally I don't get a whole lot of taste differences. The Monarcas seem to have a bit more punch to me. I gave away my Churchills to my Dago friend who likes that vitola.

Just a quick update.
I've now smoked 5 Cetros. Three were outstanding! One was good. And one had some minor burn/construction issues (somewhat plugged, tunneled a bit) that were annoying, thus ruining the cigar experience somewhat.

Very pleased thus far.
Decided to go back to grab a second box of Petites....................... d'oh!
Snooze ya looze........
I'm supposed to be on hiatus anyway Brick wall

How are they smoking for the rest of you?

I haven't smoked one in a few weeks, but what I've had have been excellent burn, draw and flavor. Keeping my fingers crossed the rest of them are that good.
