It's clear to me that he's primarily a CEO. He has zero experience with compromise.

He is simply the wrong man for the job. For a whole host of reasons.

But because he lacks the essential civility, open-mindedness and compromise he is, and we are as a nation, stuck in the mud.

If we gave him free reign to 'lead', I strongly believe we'd be in some very deep chit.
Much worse than mud.

Randomly changing your position on a topic and saying something 180 degrees different from yesterday isn't compromise. It's mental instability.

Drafter, obviously I don't like Trump. But I think he is in the horrible position of not having a good answer, and in this particular situation I feel bad for him. Obama had no answer, W had no answer. Why would Trump miraculously have an answer?

Trump was making an effort.. lots of Conservatives and the NRA didn't like it... What did the Left do..?? Ignored his efforts and mocked him on the news and latenight TV for a random comment about what he would hope he could do if faced with life and death... But as long as everyone had a good laugh I guess it's ok... We'll just do nothing.. Mellow

If the idiot had just given his suggestion, no one would have mocked him.

Of course, if history is any example, he had no desire to follow through on his suggestion.

I don't even think I would have wanted him to take away our 2nd amendment rights like that. Sounds like a commie.

But in trumpian fashion, he couldn't pass up a crowd without trying to glorify himself.

If you wanted a president who would make decisions and not distract from them by glorifying himself, you should have voted for one. This wasn't some trait he was hiding from you in the primaries or in the general election

But still no mention about the bump-stocks ban or tougher background checks... Opening mental facilities if possible where needed... The only thing the Left wants is an outright ban... They know it won't happen so nothing will get done... Then they will use it against Republicans come election time... Just like DACA... They don't want Trump to do anything that will gain him support... Mellow

since Columbine, all PD's have changed their tactics in response to active shooters...PD no longer takes cover and wait for SWAT...

the new SOP is to enter, ideally in a team of three officers (this aspect of the training allows the single resource deputy an out, until two other deputies/other PD arrived on scene), rapidly locate and stop the shooter...training requires a single-minded approach, ignore casualties or other needs...just engage and stop the shooter...hard to imagine that the Broward County Sheriff didn't do that training and adopt that policy/SOP...if so, they are in a heap of trouble and exposed to a big liability loss...

Here's my take.

Trump tends to have diarrhea of the mouth and constipation of the brain. Do I agree with his vision, yes? Do I wish his vision had a different messenger, sure. But, it is what it is.

Having trained numerous times in active shooter situations, I can comfortably say that anyone running unarmed towards a situation like that has put put their suicide plan into motion. Though noble, the likelihood of dying without saving a single soul is higher than 98.2%.

Should an untrained but armed responder charge forward the shooter will still have an advantage because they'll shoot in any direction whereas the Samaritan will likely try to avoid shedding innocent blood.

We can whatif it until Victor professes love for Trump, but at the end of the day the officer(s) failed to perform their duties regardless of the outcome.

True, but not to wait around outside until others arrived. IMHO he failed the students and faculty, their families, the community and his agency.

As I said earlier, I think anyone who makes a claim about how they would have done better in a situation like that, is a blowhard. Unless they have been in that sort of situation, I doubt anyone knows. I bet that same cop he's criticizing would have said the same thing he said.

I don't believe anyone's claim they would be the hero in that sort of situation, unless they've been in something similar. Hell, I'd go one further... I have less faith in the sort of person who would make that sort of ridiculous braggartly claim.

It's just one more time the president has shown us that he's not a 10th the man he thinks he is, and isn't half the man your average person is.

Based on the liberal loons posting here I'm confirmed he was the right choice over her.

I'll most likely vote for him for a 2nd term.

This is funny... because dmv thinks he's being clever by saying things like this.. but it's been studied. It's clear cut tribalism.
They have shown that when given the most random and completely meaningless designation, humans will immediately differentiate into "us vs them".... the "them" may simply be a group of people who estimated over the number of dots on a page rather than under... but they suddenly become a "them".

Look at how dmv identifies the "them" in his post... "liberal loons"... half the people who dislike trump wouldn't classify as liberals, however our subject here has chosen to classify everyone he's against in the same bucket.

Further studies have shown that people's tribalism is so dysfunctional that when they are given disbursement tasks (ie, you must disburse these 10$ between your group and "them") people would rather get less, if it means they can ensure that the "them" group is hurt (ie, if given a choice of disbursing $5 to each group, or only getting 4$ for their group but ensuring the "them" only gets $3, they would rather only get 4$)

This can be clearly demonstrated by the subject here... dmv would gladly vote for trump on a second term, strictly because of the suffering he believes will be afflicted on the "them" group. Even if there is a better candidate.

textbook...

and also why our country will continue to go downhill.

you're right about one thing: This is funny.
It's like you responded to a different post.
DMV didn't call everyone who dislikes Trump a liberal loon. He simply made reference to the liberal loons who post here.
Further, DMV provided one reason he would support Trump in the future. He didn't say this decision was based solely on this single point. He merely offered one up because it was relevant to his post.

You sure do read a lot into what other people say and then try to twist it to make some obscure point that doesn't even fit the conversation.

And the best part?
It doesn't matter if your accusations are true or false. Just by jumping to your own conclusions proves that you're either not thinking straight or couldn't comprehend what he said.
We all know you're the smart one here, so it must be the former.
Which indicates ATDS.
That's Acute Trump Derangement Syndrome.

How many people do you think post in cbid would classify in the real world as "liberal loons" tail? Provide a hard number.

Our little dmv troll even clarified "The louder and more enraged they become with their TDS...the more I am to support him"... indicating his support is based on what he perceives to be suffering of the group he has identified as "them"

but you'll .try to fit this into your "TDS" philosophy. The difference is what I'm pointing out is an actual study. You've just got your little fantasy.
