"Racist Rant?"
You can't believe that tweet was a rant.
You're either lying, or you're the most hypersensitive person I've ever met. And I live in Massachusetts.
You can self-justify this all you want. It doesn't mask the glaring double standard within our media.
If you want to justify things in that myopic mind of yours, then chew on this:
You call Barr's comment a "rant". But which of the two women gave their comment actual thought?
Do you think Roseanne jotted it down and ran it past producers and then recorded it and tweeted it only after the fact?
Because that's what Bee did.
One of the problems with social media is the knee-jerk venom that gets posted too quickly.
I'm not saying that Roseanne is truly sorry for what she said. I don't care either way. But it's obvious which of the two made a calculated move versus simply a quick insult.
Did I say quick insult?
I meant racist rant.
smh
It's clear to me that Roseanne gave her "quip" (it's okay to call it that, right?) much more thought than Bee did. If it wasn't so blatantly racist it would be funny. She's witty. Bee, I dunno what she was thinking...
But was what Bee said carefully planned? Who cares. It was vulgar. Good for ratings maybe.
At least Bee didn't blame her meds. Roseanne tried that. That was pretty lame I thought.
Bee's apology: "would like to sincerely apologize to Ivanka Trump and to my viewers for using an expletive on my show to describe her last night. It was inappropriate and inexcusable. I crossed a line, and I deeply regret it."
Barr apologized too. Was fascinating...
Barr has a history of mental illness. And seems proud of it. She's an artist of sorts I guess. I cut them more slack, usually. I like art.
I'm sure Bee spoke to her lawyers before her remark.
And Roseanne didnt.
But should've.
Anyway, racism and prejudices are holdovers from times past. We havent yet figured out the new rules about race. Jokes, racially motivated comments etc haven't caught up to how racially diverse we've become.
We'll get there.
