Happy New Year, everybody ...and thanks to Mrs. Sledn for popping in to say hello...

Today is my wife's birthday, which is the real reason for our party tonight...doubt if anyone will be around at midnight...

Gonna cook some shrimp scampi with linguini alfredo, grill up some filet mignon topped with bacon bits in avocado oil... son is making broccoli and sweet potatoes, daughter bringing something sweet for dessert...

Al, Frank, Happy birthday to the wives...

Threw my back out around 11 this morning... Mom took the kids, I went driving (seems to make things better)... Stopped at the tribal smoke shop... They really screwed up their prices and I warned them, but they didn't listen... PAM 64 went from $12 to $20... Jaime Garcia went from $6 to $10... So I did something I rarely do, left without buying...

Second shop - one I like a lot - made it 20 minutes before their early close, grab a couple nuevitas... "Um, it's cash only right now"... Hit the atm right down the street... "We're sorry but the part needed to fix this atm is on backorder"...

Nearly 10 minutes have passed so I'm not making it back before close... Need this day to turn around so I hit Krispy kreme...wait in line for 20 minutes... Lady in front of me buys out all but a couple odd donuts...

Hit up in n out for a reliable 1800 calorie meal...

Decided to try one last shop... Picked up an LFD chapter 1 and a tat cojonu 03 that I'm smoking right now while I drop a deuce...

Wife and kids at the in laws... I celebrate alone... Might smoke a joint, might not... I'm tired and the sun never really did come out today...

Happy New Year, everyone! I wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2019!

Hit up the MD today to avoid paying into my deductible after the first. Off seegars for hopefully only a few more weeks. I’ve only had 3 since Halloween. I miss them...

Safely in my house... about to take my old ass to bed, after I check the pork shoulder and ensure the smoker has enough pellets.

Happy New Year. Wishing you all a great 2019.

Re: mini herf with 8track. I survived but, unfortunately, I didn't get to see him verbally dress down some homeless dude and, fortunately, didn't get to see him dress up as a homeless transvestite. He says you get the best coin with that costume... I'll take his word for it.

No hangover here. Wifey and I going on a 7 mile hike this morning in the mtn preserve. Rest of the day will be spent with a fine Habanos, a nip or two and the bowl games.

Good run last night, minus my dad totaling his truck on a slippery road last night. Talked with him, and he seemed fine. Only a cut on his forearm for his troubles.

Neighbor stopped over with her dog last night, it shot out like a bullet into the backyard.

Turns out another neighbor thee houses down around the corner now has a half dozen chickens and a couple ducks.

If I do a midnight egg run and practice my aim then learn how to clean a chicken I can probably land myself a free breakfast and lunch.

Camper show season starts this weekend with a trip to Indy for a show at the state fairgrounds. Might do that one day, then the huge model train show is coming to Chicago too, so one day in Indy one day in Chicago

Next weekend boat and RV show at McCormick place in Chicago, I got off work so boy and I will take the train up there for that.

The following weekend is the smaller RV show in Schaumburg.

Two weeks off, then the big RV show in Rosemont, motorcycle show in Chicago, RV and boat show in Indy and the Chicago auto show at McCormick place all kinda overlap. Gonna try to fit em all in

World of wheels the following weekend.

Once the RV/Boat/Car/bike shows are done we're heading to Florida for a while to get away from the cold.

Gotta fit some work in there as well.

I've been off since the 21st. Gotta work a day shift tomorrow, then it's back to night shift on the 6th.

*sigh*

It's closer to home, which is good for me... not so sure how a 9 mile trip twice a day is going to work for a diesel truck.

Back in May. I got a 2018 Ram EcoDiesel. Tows the boat effortlessly... and gets 24-25 freeway and 17-18 while towing. I got 17-18 in the Tacoma when I wasn't towing.

Trip to Vegas and back (600+ miles to a tank) I averaged 26.4 mpg.

Getting old. Hung over from only 4 or 5 glasses of whiskey last night and some champagne.

Don't usually drink new years any more. I'll have opportunities throughout the year for hangovers... no need to start the year that way.
