Sick call offs annoy me. I haven't used a sick day in a year and a half.

I'm going back in tonight, as well. 4 day work week... begin.

The wife took an office job a few years back, after 20 years self employed. She gets extremely upset with her younger coworkers who use sick days like extra vacation days... I have been self employed for 22 years. Thank goodness. I don't play well with others...Beer

We've now have to follow the corporate sick time rules; as mandated by the liberal city within. Each employee gets six "free" sick days. The 7th, you can talk with them about it, the 8th is a verbal warning (which ironically is in writing), the 9th is a written warning. The 10th is a final.

Once they get to the year anniversary of the first occurrence, it falls off and they can take another.

These fuq ups are going to take care of me in a nursing home?

Bring on the smokes and drinks!

Two call offs on another unit, so had to send my staff up there and run short. Stupid busy night, and looking to be even worse for the day crew.

There's a trump card anyone can pull when calling off. If no reason is given and I ask, and they say "personal" I'm not allowed to inquire further. The new people will make the mistake of saying "the weather" or "car issues" which I then forward to my boss who can request a taxi or send out someone with a hospital van to pick em up but they don't get a ride back home afterward.

Sounds like you run a union shop too, man. Now before anyone gets worked up, I understand and agree unions do great things for protecting the workforce. It's just some of the rules in the contract that allow them to game the system blows my mind

Torn or Narcam. Miracle drug which gives people a second chance, or an expensive, enabling drug which gives people endless heroin mulligans at tax payer expense.

Not sure it's that easy... Chat with someone who's taken a dose of the stuff... It's not cost-free...

For starters, if it was your kid? Give it to him or no?

From what I've been told - I don't do heroin and I don't think I ever have - the narcan reverse leaves you feeling like you've been hit by a truck.... I'm told it's incredibly painful for several days... I'm also of the opinion that this is probably the best time and place for intervention... Might take a few times, but I think people - kids especially - are worth it...

If it was my kid..... that's always the question. Most often, it comes down to decision making. If they start out as recreational dopers, I have nill in the area of sympathy. Unless they are going to claim they didnt know anything about heroin being bad.

Why should my tax dollars go to people who make themselves into victims? Just learned of a "victim" who died when the narcam didn't work.... it was their fifth time. Keep them living for what? Keep heroin dealers employed? The victims are making it apparent- they'd rather be dead. Why are we stopping them?

It's a tougher discussion when you are talking about people with injuries and pain related to accidents or military service.

My kid hasn't been in an accident.
He hasn't been in the military.
He knows not to try it.
If he overdoses and dies, it shouldn't be the taxpayers problem.

So you're actually telling me that if your son was overdosing in your arms and you had the magic elixir to bring him back to life, but using it would cost the taxpayers $12, you wouldn't do it? I don't believe you...

Probably not. not addicted to anything because I stay away from the crap. It's not about judgment, it's about me busting my ass to support my family while my tax dollars pour out to people who sit on their dead asches, and knowgling put needles in their arms.

That's fine. You don't have to believe me.
If the $12 ( and I doubt that price is right) isn't an issue, then send me $12. Then send me $12 again, and again, and again. I'm a victim. Pay me!

Btw, if you don't believe me, ask MACS or my son.

Do let me know your PayPal address. I'll watch for the first of my $12, in endless installments.

I have an endless addiction to cash.

I'm a victim.

According to www.goodrx.com, the lowest price per dose is $129.99.

So those Pay Pal payments won't sting in the beginning, but will hurt you and your family eventually. Although money probably isnt much of an issue for you, as you've got plenty of money for good pot.

Make it rain in my direction, Bro!

Btw, add the cost of the multiple cops, paramedics, equipment, hospital service, etc.

Seriously? You would seriously let your son die over money? If so, so be it... I'm not gonna argue with you about it... We all choose what's important... To some it's life to others it's money...

It's a personal responsibility, accountability, and fiscal issue.

I am addicted to money. When should I expect my first installment? To your point, people are more important than money, so put your PayPal where your keyboard is. You can't go from High Horse to Cold Blooded Hypocrite in one thread.

I hope you don't ever have to deal with losing a loved one to addiction... And I hope the people here who have won't hold anything against you... You're obviously taking this very personally... Maybe if you tried some of this "good pot" you could see I'm just trying to have a real discussion here, no need for personal attacks... Take care 8...

I look at it as an open debate; nothing more, nothing less. You called me out for not answering your question. I answered you. if you've got endless financial resources to pay out, and don't feel people have to be accountable for their decisions, we are just wired quit differently.

As a parent, all you can do is educate yours kids, instill values, a love of God, and hope for the best.

Decisions have consequences, consequences costs.
