Getting a little worried about clintCigar. Hasn’t been on in a week. Box is inbound to him. Crossing my fingers.

Did he say anything about going camping down by the river in a van?

But seriously, yah, now that you mentioned it, for a guy that was smoking upwards of 5-6 cigars a day, it sure is odd that he hasn’t posted.

Remember that guy Charlie Barr? Came across as a country bumpkin but was really into the site. Multiple posts per day. Made a trade for some Padrons, they were sent to him but he never sent his end. Despite attempts to contact him, he never responded back, he literally just off the face of the earth 🌎. Iirc, he told someone that he was gonna be helping a friend over a weekend and that was the last communication with him. Hopefully nothing like that happened to Clint.

Just a thought for future box passes . . .
Maybe the participants should include their phone # when they send their mailing address to the "Pass Organizer".
It might help in certain situations.
Just sayin'.

Not a bad idea. And as it just so happens, I will be in clint’s Neck of the woods next weekend. Going to a wedding in the Dallas area. Hopefully a drive by won’t be necessary.

Clint is in the cc split as well and hasn't been on to see my pm in awhile now. Hoping he is just on a vacation or something like that.

David, if you can't connect with Clint tonight, why not try to cancel delivery of the package?

Cigarlady, who shipped it and bought the tracking number can call USPS tomorrow am, before it is delivered and request that it be returned...

Thought you couldn’t do that but learned something new today:

Never heard of doing that before. What happens to the box? Just goes back to her?

I think I am going to roll the dice and just hope clint gets the package and jumps back on the site.

Otherwise, I am going to make a side trip when I am in Dallas.

How does somebody commit to a box pas, then go incommunicado? I mean, I know the answer, but I’m inclined to think well of most people.

Clint, don’t prove me wrong.

I'd cancel delivery, my opinion. To much time wasted and cigars to be lost.

Although I’m normally a glass-half-full kind of guy, in this case, I see it as half-empty and would rather be preemptive than reactive. Silence is definitely not golden and with no other means of communication other than a drive-by, I lean towards intercepting the box and resetting the pass. Of course Clint, when he does come back, can be put back in.

If the pass were made up of “regular, everyday” premiums I’m sure I’d feel differently but with super premiums and elite cigars, kind of tough to see them get lost or ruined. Ultimately though, you’re the captain and will support your decision.

You guys are waaay to optimistic.
Intercept that box NOW and get it back to cigarlady or whoemever.

If clintcigar shows up, maybe he’ll learn that he needs to communicate better on a pass of this kind.

Once it is out for delivery today, not sure there is too much I can do about it.

Speak up, David.

Are you sticking with letting it ride out to see what happens?

Hahahahaha! Just a “minor” detail! ram27bat

But you know, I think there’s a good side to this. Having multiple forms of communication on a box pass should be SOP on future box passes. I’m also thinking a “Call and Response” prior to boxing up and sending would also allay any angst. Basically there’d be a post with “Hey Clint, the box is ready to be sent out. You ready for it?” kind of thing. The receiver would have to respond with an affirmative before the box is mailed. ‘Course, that’s for the box pass originator to decide if that’s necessary. Anxious

Anyway, good to see you again Clint, I always you knew you’d come through.

A relative unknown noob goes dark with over $300 in others' cigars on the way to their mailbox.

I think the recommendation was solid.

I have to agree....once it's sent and gone, it's gone...if canceled it could always be rerouted again after recipient turns up.....Think

Considering I've did transactions with like 5-6 members on here within the last 2 months something obviously went wrong for me to go dark. I did communicate my absence. Like I said, pessimism runs deep in here.

Clint,

Yeah, it was a decent pass. Smoked the Ashton last night. It was my first or second Ashton ( can't recall if I had before), but I wasn't as excited about it as I thought I would be. It is a great cigar, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't jump buy more. The others are resting... Waiting to take those on my trip to Paris end of year.

Did you receive the box today yet?
