I'm trying to illustrate the mixed signals and BS most of the media spouts. I don't watch any news programs or follow anyting other than tuning into one of the local stations to catch the weather or sports updates when we had sports going on. All the other stuff I generally ignore.

Oh I’m with you on the media. When it comes to covid luckily I don’t rely on them for my information. I get to read interesting stuff daily. Some of the data and data analysis is amazing, telling, and at times almost chilling. Listening to folks look for better ways to look at the data and more importantly how to make it actionable is amazing. Some really smart folks are on this.

The anti mask crap and virus deniers are definitely media driven. They certainly are not driven by science or data.

And to be clear while I was responding to your post I was not in any way referring to you (Bucky) when I said you. It’s just how I talk when in informal settings. Except in the previous post where you meant Bucky lol.

I didn't take the you thing as it being directed at me personally. If I did and it bothered me, I'd have some underlying issues that should be addressed. I've never physically met you but my impression is that you're a respectable dude even if we might disagree on some things here and there.

Spey, Theodore is frank's pet name for me. I don't recall exactly how it came about but I think it was at one of the Masshole herfs we had a while back. Probably some little random thing that grew legs and stuck.

I think there's some truth in this. Not sure if it was at the herf at his sportsman's club or the one at your place.

I didn't realize until just recently that they produced a new picture sometime earlier this afternoon.

So, what you're saying there is: "Victor was right and I was wrong, but I don't want to say that directly so I'm going to just post a non-specific message about how I was working off of old information. But Victor was right and I was wrong."

Virus deniers?
Is that a thing? Or is that your interpretation?

Separately: What makes you think they aren't driven by science or by data? Because their conclusions differ from yours?

I know these questions might feel provocative, but that's not my intent.

Reminds me of the bitter Polish couple.
The man pulls out a gun and aims it at his head.
The wife starts laughing and tells him to do it.
He says "What are you laughing at? You're next!"

Guy walks into a bar.
Bartender pours him a beer and guy says "hey. want to hear a good Polish joke?"
Barkeep says:
See that big guy over there? He's Polish.
That monster at the pool table? He's Polish.
And I'm 100% Polish.
So...you still want to tell that joke?

Guy says "Nah. I'd hate to have to explain it three times."

The FBI has determined that a noose found in NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace's garage at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday had been there since at least last year, according to the bureau.

A statement issued by U.S. Attorney Jay E. Town said that an investigation has concluded that no federal crime was committed.

"The FBI learned that garage number 4, where the noose was found, was assigned to Bubba Wallace last week. The investigation also revealed evidence, including authentic video confirmed by NASCAR, that the noose found in garage number 4 was in that garage as early as October 2019," the bureau said. "Although the noose is now known to have been in garage number 4 in 2019, nobody could have known Mr. Wallace would be assigned to garage number 4 last week."

Further details were not immediately released. The FBI said no charges would be pursued in relation to the incident.

“The FBI has completed its investigation at Talladega Superspeedway and determined that Bubba Wallace was not the target of a hate crime, NASCAR said in a release after the findings. "The FBI report concludes, and photographic evidence confirms, that the garage door pull rope fashioned like a noose had been positioned there since as early as last fall."

This is a developing story, check back for updates.
