He said to go to the voting place and see if your absentee ballot had been counted and if you were eligible to vote.. that way if it had been lost your vote would still count... unlike the 1,000 people, who got caught, who purposely voted twice as the OP states... but ya, the news kinda fails to mention it...Mellow

yeah, I heard that.
What I posted was the better way though. His way could still result in double voting, Federal offense.
Lots of peeps voting by mail to avoid the cooties at the polling places.

It didn't make alotta sense cause you'd normally only request an absentee ballot if you can't make it to the voting place... but he tried to correct his gaffe.. it's just funny how Biden's are dismissed but there's so much attention on Trump's.. I get it tho.. It's election time... Mellow

They should just wear a mask and go vote.

So is masks work the scam or we need mail in voting the scam?

Would you just stop asking questions already? It's pretty simple, some might call it rather vanilla. You've already been told what to be afraid of and what to believe.

Shut up and get back in line.

The key words are " HAD BEEN COUNTED "👂🦻 This is just, I want to spin it left, no I want to go right.

More than 1,000 Virginia voters who applied for absentee ballots have received an extra one in the mail, state Republican Party officials said Friday.

The mix-up comes shortly after a Democratic push to expand absentee voting in a bid to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. As a result, absentee ballots no longer require an excuse, and any registered voter is allowed to request one.

"We knew the Democrats many last-minute changes to our election law would make our elections less secure, but no one could imagine voters receiving two ballots," Rich Anderson, the state’s GOP chairman, said in a statement.

Do they have to wait two weeks to count mail-in votes. Quarantine, so the poll counter don't die.

If you are worried about someone double voting: If the two ballots have identical scan codes, then the paper ballot machine will reject the second ballot If the first was already voted on. Vice versa for the first ballot. So, no second vote will be counted. Not in the county I live in.

If someone sends in an absentee ballot but dies before election day, would the vote count ? If they sent in two and died would they be prosecuted ?

So, no.
Metaphors are largely not edable.

Unless you look at it for the “eat that question” point of view.

Which is also a metaphor....

A Texas mayoral candidate was arrested Wednesday night and faces felony voter fraud charges after allegedly sending 84 applications for mail-in ballots.

Zul Mohamed, who's running to become the mayor of Carrollton, a city roughly one hour north of Dallas, was charged with 25 counts of knowingly possessing a ballot with intent to defraud, a second-degree felony, and 84 counts of providing false info on a voting application, a third-degree felony, according to the Texas attorney general's office.

“Mail ballots are inherently insecure and vulnerable to fraud, and I am committed to safeguarding the integrity of our elections. My office is prepared to assist any Texas county in combating this form of fraud," Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement.

Mohamed is being held in Denton County jail. His bond has not been set at the time of publication.

County and state investigators issued a search warrant on his home in Carrollton and discovered 25 ballots, the Denton County Sheriff's Office said.

The sheriff's office said that on Sept. 23, investigators became aware someone had requested absentee ballots be sent to a P.O. Box in Lewisville, Texas, which allegedly belonged to a nursing home facility. But when investigators contacted Carrollton residents whose ballots had been requested, those individuals said they had not applied for the ballots.

Police said they learned the P.O. Box had been obtained with a fake Texas driver's license and a false University of North Texas student ID. Police began surveilling the postal facility.

On Wednesday, the box of requested ballots was picked up at the facility; when police searched Mohamed's house, they allegedly found the box containing the registered ballots, with several already open.

"Voter fraud is a serious and widespread issue and cannot be tolerated," Denton County Sheriff Tracey Murphree said in a statement. "The fact an actual candidate for public office would engage in these activities is appalling. We will continue to aggressively investigate allegations of voter fraud."

So that's the answers from those who don't think that voter fraud is an issue with things like mass mailings of ballots and no ID or proof of eligibility requirements.

Folks can describe realistic probable scenarios and the rebuttal is... Nah, that doesn't happen. Where's the proof? If it happens then show me proof or else it doesn't happen - no proof = the system works and there is no problem.

Then people get caught doing it and the reply is: They got caught? See the system works. There is no problem.

Just hiding your head in the sand.

so citing evidence of fraud attempts being stopped by the system isn't stronger than unsubstantiated claims of rigged presidential elections?
Where's Trump's proof of his claims? Wouldn't it have been common knowledge before he started making excuses in case he loses?
How long have you not trusted this pillar of Democracy?

four years ago it was unsubstantiated claims of bus loads of serial voters driving from state to state. There aren't enough Greyhound buses in the world to have rigged an election, That claim was just to soothe an ego for an electoral victor embarrassed by losing the popular vote.

but he won and we never saw the receipts from Greyhound.

now it's the purposely crippled USPS in case he loses.

If you guys really want to get my attention on rigged elections then lets talk real meaty conspiracy...Florida's hanging chads in 2000 when the Governor's brother became the POTUS!
That was some stuff with, um, stuff. Not claims with no stories to back it like now.

Give me big substantiated proof or...stand down.

Wake Up America. We are not a banana republic.

Hey, why not vote multiple times. Seems to be the way things are going.

Once Biden and the Dems sweep the House and Senate, there will be 1,001 Supreme Court Justices.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is remaining silent on whether he supports a move by many progressives to expand the number of justices on the Supreme Court if the Democrats win back the White House and take control of the Senate in November’s elections.

Asked Thursday by reporters if he supports such a move, Biden once again refused to answer, saying “you’ll know my position on court-packing the day after the election.”

and absentee or requested can't be stolen?
C'mon man!
Nothing is 1000% secure.
But I'm still waiting for Trump or his repeaters to substantiate claims.
Several states have been doing mail in for years. I never heard a question about the confidence in the results, have you?

It would have been posted by now.

Enough noise.
Everyone, go vote whichever way you prefer.
