Weather forecast calls for a dreary, pissy and rain on and off all day tomorrow.

Personal forecast says about 6 hrs of simmering chili (yes with beans) in the crock pot, probable chance of a load of laundry and a 100% chance of a scattered cat naps.

Mine are so young I literally can't even imagine them not being home all the time. It must be the best feeling when your son is home.

Unmeasurable joy. And for some reason, he likes us on top of the love.

I like this, it sums things up nicely.

Chili in the crock pot, let the magic happen.

Gotta pack this weekend for a trip back home to babysit the folks. Mom's new hip to be installed on Monday then she has an overnight stay in the hospital. If things go as planned then she'll move to a rehab place for a week or so before coming back home.

I'll be babysitting Dad while she's away. I think the rehab place is just on the other side of town so we'll check in on her throughout the week. Prolly some projects to do around the house while I'm there.

Surprisingly it was not bad at all. I left the wife home just in case so she wouldn’t kill anyone there.

I can relate. I've mentally killed, well killed is an extreme... maybe just a wiffle ball bat to the head without serious injury, numerous people while working at Walmart. If my thoughts were grounds of conviction, I'd be locked up as a serial wiffle ball bat assassin.

With that said, I think a jury would let me walk or nullify the the charges of wiffle ball batting people that need a good wiffle ball bat smack in the head.

We just need to figure out how to make "stupid" hurt.

Also, I think navigating the Costco parking lot on a weekend should be the final exam for student drivers.

Helped brother in law dig out his crawlspace.

Initially he said he thought it would take two or three saturdays. After seeing how slow it goes, it's gonna be 6-8 saturdays. Trying to dig in an 18" tall space while slipping around on wet clay was not fun.

Cleaned the chicken coop. Cut my rooster's head off with an axe.

Stacked some firewood took a shower and ate pizza.

I don't think I'm leaving the couch until bedtime.

Fantastic! We used to have a bagel shop in Aiken. They made a terrific sun dried tomato bagel that I had toasted with fried egg whites and tomato. I'd buy a couple dozen bagels and their honey-walnut-cream cheese spread to take to work. After the first time there was always a stamped when they saw me coming with the bags.

Happy Sunday morning to you all.

Listened to a podcast where the subject was Time. Don't recall how the calculation was made, however, they said the moment your kid graduates high school, you have spent 95% of the time with them in total.

If I would have known that, I would have encouraged him to drop out.

I made "nacholadas" for dinner.

In a Pam'ed pan, a layer of corn chips*, a layer of shredded Costco rotisserie chicken, a sprinkling of Konriko Jalapeno seasoning, pour a can of red enchilada sauce over the chicken, a layer of Costco shredded Mexican style cheese, another layer of corn chips, and a final layer of the same shredded cheese. In the oven for about twenty minutes at 375° until the cheese is browning.

*Un-salted chips would have been better for the bottom layer. Onions, black olives and possibly green enchilada sauce instead of red are more alternatives

First time I've heard of nacholadas but sounds yummy.

I could go for a hunk of nacholadas right about now. I'd need to find a source for the jalapeno seasoning though.

Was it kinda soupy by pouring the enchilada sauce over it? I'd think tossing the shredded chicken in a bowl with the sauce and jalapeno seasoning then layer it on the chips might be less soupy. Adding diced and sliced olives would be on my radar too.

He bought a conveyor belt machine to move the dirt out but no. Just a couple dudes on their bellies/backs digging up wet clay. It went fastest if we just broke the clay with the edge of the shovel and then moved the clay globs by hand.

It's gonna take at least 6-8 saturdays to finish lowering the dirt to the footing. Once that's done gotta dig the edges down to the bottom of the footing and put in drain tile and stone.

Unrelated. He was too big and too aggressive to keep any longer. Tried to move the 2 month old chickens out there and he ripped the skin off one of their heads. Been attacking wife and boy much more frequently too. He'd occasionally check me but never fully attacked. I had no problem kicking him full force when he'd try but wife n boy would just give him a love tap so he'd keep attacking.

Mowed the lawn again, even had to mow the woods again. Everything's growing so quickly.

Finished the easy parts of my stereo install. Subs and amp are in and working. Component speakers installed and working but desperately lacking power and tuning on the factory radio. Tonight or tomorrow I'll start soldering up the harnesses to add the DSP and amp for the highs. This is the worst part of it, permanently altering the factory wiring harness and doing it semi-blind. There's no adapters or modules or anything available for the Ridgeline so it's all gotta be custom made. Some people get the harness plugs from junkyards but LKQ wouldn't sell the amp plugs without the amp $150 for an Acura MDX one that should have the same plugs but for some reason Honda used non JA45 standard plugs on their amp harness so until it's in my hand I wouldn't know. Bought a pair of molex 16 pin connectors and some multi conductor cable. I will essentially replace the factory plugs with the molex so removing the amp/dsp and going back to stock will just be removing my custom harness and factory to factory can be plugged back in. Basically the only thing getting hardwired into the truck is the extra pair of connectors.

Grilled some burgers for dinner. Now's relax time.

I find diced jalapeno's to be the best jalapeno seasoning to be found............nice ripe red jalapenos if you can find them.

I usually grow jalapenos and cherry peppers in the summer garden along with regular bell peppers. At the end of the season, any leftovers I let dry out and coffee grinder them for dried hot pepper flakes.

Tried to jar up some cherry peppers stuffed with prosciutto and provolone cheese thingies and packed in olive oil one year but it didn't work out too well. Totally messed up. I tried to hot pack them which resulted in the cheese melting out. Should have done the cold pack jarring method.

Mental note... horde a bunch of Peju Cabernet Sauvignon in 2028 as part of a retirement plan.
