Thankful for the soaking rain we've been getting on and off the last three days. Will be less thankful when walking both dogs in the near full time rain today. However (comma) we have been in a moderate drought for a few months, so I'll take it.

Also thankful to see a post from Frankie Tripod.

Grateful for being the “Retired” part of Semi Retired today.
Later, a high school friend will be in town today. Haven’t seen him in a year. He is also the best friend of the guy going through double quad therapy. DQB will be doubly happy.

Very nice! She will likely be a little bored at first. Layabout is tough work when you're not used to it. I got the dog walking to do, and I go to the gym and do yard work.

Wife does some gardening and she has been baking and cooking and making a little side cash doing that. I'm thankful she's found something to occupy her time and she enjoys it.

Great, HD. That will lower any stress levels you have.

It will definitely lower her stress levels! We both have fairly high stress jobs.

Thankful that the 25-30 mph winds today were accompanied by temps 17 degrees higher than normal, making work almost warm.

I'm thankful for free natural gas heat.

It's been cold lately and I can just crank it up as much as I want--never a heating bill to pay.

Thankful I was able to walk 6 blocks- my longest walk in 15 days, and didn't feel like I was going to fall over.

Thankful for my recovery after 3+ hairy days in the hospital. Through God's grace and the prayers of some excellent people here and some Cigarbid Exiles I treasure greatly, I'm tickin' and soon to be kickin'.

Thankful for a good two hours with mom and a great visit with my favorite aunt yesterday. Thankful Auntie’s recovery from hip replacement surgery and the unexpected, advanced level of care her husband is providing for her.

Highlight of yesterday was the investment of time walking through my son’s forest. He was my parents first grandchild, and as a tribute, my dad planted two acres of small pine trees. They grow between one and two feet each year, so they are now 30 to 40 feet tall.

My son is in school three hours away, and we do see him about once every three months. His forest is the place for me to be with him when I can’t be with him.

Thanks again, Dad. You left a wonderful legacy.
