The other day I had my very first Punch (I never hear much about these old classics, and never got around to this one until now). It was petite corona, could have been a London Club, but I'm eighty percent sure it was an Elite. It was amazing! For such a small, cheap cigar, it packed a decent punch (sic), and had incredible flavor. It tasted EXACTLY like a fried steak with a cracked pepper rub. I hardly wanted to brush my teeth that night, because I kept tasting it. So tonight I figured I'd get big brother, I think it was a double corona (Punch has too many dang sizes). As great as the first one was, that's how much of a let down this one was. Bitter, no flavor, and absolutely flat (very reminiscent of those awful Thomas Hinds). If it didn't say sungrown on the box, I wouldn't have believed it. I know age and size can make a big difference, but these were not even from the same planet. Both are the Ecuadorian sungrown, from their standard (chateau?) line. Is there that much difference in the blend between sizes? Did I just get lucky with the first, or unlucky with the second? The shop I got the petite from is pretty far, so I figured I'd see what you guys thought before making the trek back to stock up.
